PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you.

DENKINGER:  Iowa, Air Force, Kansas State and Michigan

.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

DENKINGER:  Up to this point I visited Iowa and U. of Kansas.  I hope to see the other schools soon.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

DENKINGER:  I want to major in Science/ Engineering.  A lot of people have said it's very rigorous to juggle that with athletics.  It's really important to me to find the right school to give myself a chance to succeed with both.  Location isn't a huge deal.  But close to home is always good at the same time.

PBR:  Has your cousins' experience helped you in regards to recruiting? *Drews' cousin is 2013 Dowling Catholic grad Anthony Denkinger who is currently attending Air Force*

DENKINGER:  He's helped a lot.  A great resource.  He also gave me a first hand view on what it takes to get to the next level and how to present yourself.

PBR: How did you do your sophomore year?  And how did your team do?

DENKINGER:  I was very happy with my sophomore year.  I was honored to be able to compete on varsity for a program like Valley as a sophomore.  Ultimately we lost in the finals of Sub-State.

PBR: What are you goals for your this year?

DENKINGER:  My goals are like most guys.  It would be great to make it to State; have a chance to play for a State title.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

DENKINGER:  I played basketball through my junior season.  It was very time consuming though so I've decided to solely concentrate on baseball the rest of the way.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

DENKINGER:  I have a 25 ACT and 3.8 GPA.  I'm planning on taking the ACT again in the fall along with the SAT.
