Q&A With Uncommitted 2015: Sam Lizarraga (Cedar Rapids Kennedy)

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
LIZARRAGA: Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, Iowa, Kirkwood, Iowa Central, DMACC, NIACC, Iowa Western, Wabash Valley, Central College, Mt. Mercy, Luther, Ellsworth CC, Southeastern CC and others.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
LIZARRAGA: I have visited Northern Illinois and Southeastern. I haven’t been able to visit many due to schedule conflicts with my football season.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
LIZARRAGA: I am looking for a school that fits and feels right both for baseball and academics.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
LIZARRAGA: 1st Team MVC, 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-District, All-State Super Team, Sports Spotlight 4A Pitcher of the year.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?
LIZARRAGA: I want to increase my velocity and strength. My plan is to work daily on skill specific range of motion, flexibility and mobility. I have specific short and mid-range personal baseball goals I would like to achieve.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
LIZARRAGA: Currently playing football.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
LIZARRAGA: My ACT is a 21 and I have a 3.5 GPA.
