PBR: Why did you choose Western Illinois University?
SEARS: I really enjoyed my visit, and I feel like the program is heading in the right direction and I wanted to be a part of it.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
SEARS: I was also looking into Creighton.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
SEARS: Coach Brownlee was at a showcase that I was at and I contacted him and it grew from there.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
SEARS: Very, this process has been stressful at times; but it has definitely been worth it.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
SEARS: I really liked the community feel and I enjoyed hearing Coach Brownlee's approach to the game.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
SEARS: My high school coaches- Coach Stein and Coach Daeges. Also my select coaches- Coach Hartman and Coach Shockey helped me a lot.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
SEARS: I didn't really know what to expect, but it was a fairly easy decision for me after my visit.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
SEARS: To help the team in whatever way that I can.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
SEARS: Making it to the State Championship last year was an awesome experience

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
SEARS: Grant Judkins from Pella.
