Scouting Report

8/5/18- 6-foot-5, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. #2 player in IA 2019 rankings and #196 in PBR Overall for class. U. of Kentucky commit. Lean frame with athleticism. Above avg. tempo and rhythm to delivery. Long arm action, shows ability to repeat, and has extension to plate. Fastball was 86-89 mph with late arm side run and sink. Breaking ball has tight spin with late sharp break for strikes. Changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed; producing late arm side sink down and away from LHH.

2017 PBR Future Games- Uncommitted 6-foot-5, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #271 ranked player in 2019 PBR Overall Rankings. Was 3/4 with 3 singles and a walk in game action. Long lean frame with athleticism. 7.41 runner. Body load with leg kick trigger, high back elbow setup, stays through zone, consistently finds barrel, line drive contact with mid/pull approach, 89 mph exit velocity. Above avg. athlete at first, soft hands, quick release, shows actions, 85 mph arm across infield from first base. Athletic high leg kick delivery, slight back side turn, hides ball from hitter, long arm stroke, occasional life to fastball, flashes feel for secondary, keys off breaking ball, when that starts to roll, fastball plays up and can be dominant on mound. Fastball was 85-88 mph and slider was 80-81 mph.

Thin, highly projectable 6-foot-3, 150-pound right-handed pitcher with long limbs and plenty of room for continued physical development. Loose, easy arm action from high-3/4 slot; works downhill well. Fastball ranged between 80-83, topping at 84 in his start vs. Virginia Stars. Slurve ranged between 69-72 with varying shape, inconsistent strikes with pitch. Also flashed 75 mph changeup occasionally. Competed well on mound for freshman; should continue to add velocity as he physically develops and grows into his frame. High-follow prospect.
