Future Games Spotlight: Cooper Smith

EMERSON, GEORGIA - From Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28 Prep Baseball hosted its prestigious Future Games and Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia. This year's event week also included a 17U division of uncommitted Class of 2025 players who participanted in the inaugural Senior Future Games.

On the first day of the 2024 Future Games, all players representing grad classes 2025, 2026, and 2028 will be participating in a pro-style workout in front of a fleet of Division I coaches alongside fellow prospects representing nearly every state in the nation.

Defense: 2.06-2.08 pop times. C - 79 mph. Athletic actions behind the plate, quick feet with clean release, quality direction through plate, throws have carry and accuracy to bag.
Hit: RHH. open stance, loud contact, athletic in box, ability to drive balls to both sides of field.
Power: 93.70 mph max Trackman exit velocity in bp.
Run: 3.92 runner in the 30. 

Delivery: ¾ turn into high tuck and turn, pitches with rhythm and tempo, lands inline with aggressive finish to plate.
Arm Action: RH. Two piece clean arm action with flashes of arm speed out front.
FB: T84.00, 81-84 mph. Downhill with occasional running action.
SL: 72-74 mph. Inconsistent feel with varying shape and break.

Hit: RHH. Upright setup with relaxed bat and hands.  Low leg lift load w/ limited lower half engagement.  Sprayed the ball in bp with a mix of FG ,FB, LD inconsistent contact
