LINCOLN DALTON | PLEASANT VALLEY
Lincoln Dalton emerged as one of the most dominant sophomores on the high school circuit last summer.
The big-bodied right-hander made 12 starts for Pleasant Valley, posting an impressive 8-2 record with a 1.12 ERA over 68.2 innings. He struck out 88 batters while allowing just 13 walks, finishing with the second-most strikeouts among sophomores in Class 4A. Opponents struggled to make solid contact, hitting just .128 against him.
Later in the summer, Dalton traveled to LakePoint for the Future Games, where he showcased his high-spin arsenal. His slider and curveball both exceeded 2,600 RPM, with the curveball featuring added vertical depth. He effectively elevated his fastball for chase when needed while attacking the strike zone with confidence.
Since first arriving in the Prep Baseball ecosystem in 2023 as a larger-framed, baby-faced athlete, Dalton has added significant physicality, particularly in his lower half. He efficiently uses his hips and legs, riding his backside down the slope and closing the gap between his release point and the hitter. His last two TrackMan sessions have recorded over six feet of extension, helping maintain the effective velocity of his fastball.
Currently ranked as Iowa’s top uncommitted pitcher in the 2026 class, Dalton’s recent performance at the Preseason All-State only reinforced his status as a high-level prospect. Given his talent and projection, it won’t be long before he finds a collegiate home.
