Monticello, Iowa - On Sunday, February 9th, Prep Baseball Iowa travels to the Eastern Iowa Sports Facility in Monticello to host the Preseason ID-Eastern Iowa. The events will feature over 40 prospects from the class of 2026 through 2028. This collection of players will include plenty of fresh faces as well as returning faces. 

Our staff strategically hosts Preseason ID events throughout the state in search of players who have taken advantage of the offseason, identifying new prospects to add to our follow lists or players our staff is already familiar with who are on the rise.

EVENT HISTORY

Last year’s Preseason ID saw 40 players with multiple notable performances with 12 players making their college commitments after attending the event. 

Cael Kluever (Northeast, 2026, Uncommitted) showed off a long, clean arm action with a fastball velocity that maxed out at 86 MPH. Kluever would also tick off some impressive positional numbers, including an event-best 97.6 max exit velocity while throwing 84 across the diamond. He would be selected as a member of Team Midwest for the 2024 Future Games later that summer and performed well at the Iowa State Games. The uncommitted right-hander is a prospect to track.

Outfielder Cameron Templeton (Marquette Catholic, 2025, Kirkwood commit) rattled off an event-best 3.65 30-yard dash and threw 89 from the grass. A twitchy athlete, Templeton later ripped off a 6.5 time at the 2024 Iowa State Games.
