We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview these individual programs across Idaho. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power Rankings.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across Idaho. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, Diamond Notes, and much more.

Highland enters the 2025 season returning a strong contigency of players from last spring, including five positional players and two arms who will look to lead the program to their back to a High Country Championship again in 2025. The team is under the leadership of Christian Colonel, along side some big barrels and key arms that helped carry them late into the 2024 season. Our staff has seen several of the players within this article at showcases over the past year and will have several key players to watch this spring.

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS

The long senior off the board for Highland is senior Jackson Hale RHP (Centrailia Commit) and will be looked upon to lead the squad on the bump this spring. The senior posted a 1.35 ERA last year for the Rams. Hale will be backed with a strong middle led by '25 Mason Payne (Uncommitted) who will play shortstop this season. Back behind the dish this year is a loud barrel '26 Cannon Eddie (Uncommitted) the West Coast Games Alum brings in a strong presence at the middle of the line up from the left side for the Rams, along with his strong pop time he will be at the core of this squad this spring.

TOP NEWCOMERS

Highland's top newcomers are thought of as some of the team's top underclass players and they'll have the ability to make an impact on the program for years to come. '27 Kai Jones RHP joins the team as a freshman, his 6'4 190lbs frame shows some true promise on the mound for the next 3 years for the Rams.

The Rams have a few more players in the 2026 class that are going to help jolt the offense and defense this spring. '26 Marshall Glenn will be playing middle infield, '26 Cooper Colonel will hold a strong postion in the line up as a designated hitter, and '26 Garrett Grayson will eat up some innings on the mound for Highland this spring.

With a strong crop of returning upperclassmen, as well as a jolt of production from their guys moving up through the program. Highland looks to be a strong contender again this year in the 5A class and find a way back into the State Tournament.
