Aurora Preseason ID: Outfield Analysis

By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the PBR Illinois team hosted the inaugural Aurora Preseason I.D. at the Aurora Sports Zone. The event featured close to 150 prospects from all high school classes.

Shortly after the event we released early analysis with our Quick Hits and Statistical Analysis. This week we began our position-by-position breakdown, starting with the catchers.

Today we take a look at the 30-plus outfielders that were in attendance. Oswego East boasts the top two outfielders from the day in uncommitted juniors Camden Ruby and Austin Miller. Ruby has an athletic build with more physical development to come and a flat left-handed that made a lot of hard line-drive contact in his round of BP.

Miller has an upside frame with loose levers and a quick right-handed swing. Miller stays short and direct to the ball and sprayed hard contact to all fields.

Another uncommitted junior to keep an eye on moving forward is left-handed hitting, Douglas Burson (Yorkville), who comes in at No. 3 on this list. Burson moves well for his size and has strength and leverage in his left-handed bat.

Read on below for reports on all of the outfielders from the event.
