On Tuesday, June 7th, the PBR Illinois staff held the Chicagoland Rising Stars ID at Triton JC in River Grove, Ill. The Rising Stars ID events serve as an early identifier for our staff and allows us to see prospects prior to the start of their high school careers. We also use them as identifiers for future invite-only events, such as the PBR Junior Future Games.

Kiann Cardona, N/A (IL), 2026
Positional Profile: C
Body: 5-4, 121-pounds. Athletic, well-proportioned frame.
Hit: RHH. Crouched setup, fluid pre-pitch rhythm and short stride. Loose, slightly uphill, pull side approach, line drive approach, consistently on the barrell
Power: 79.6 max exit velocity, averaged 73 mph. 269’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 66 mph. INF - 69 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4. / low 3/4
Defense: 2.32 - 2.44 pop times. Clean actions, steady hands, directional and athletic out of the crouch. INF: Feet play in rhythm at times, fields out front and flashed feel.

Nathan Cera, Maine South (IL), 2026
Positional Profile: INF/OF
Body: 5-10, 120-pounds. Wiry frame.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, wide setup, fluid pre-pitch load and short stride. Short, quick, repeats, pull side approach, line drive, loose, some bat speed present.
Power: 77.9 max exit velocity, averaged 68.4 mph. 278’ max distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 73 mph. OF - 78 mph. High 3/4, long arm action, loose with life and carry.
Defense: Quick feet, aggressive to the baseball, natural outfield actions / athletic, soft hands, quick feet.

Body: 5-10, 120-pounds. Wiry frame.
Delivery: Smooth tempo, slight drop/drive lower-half, remains in-line with a closed landing foot.
Arm Action: RH. Long/loose arm swing into a 3/4 slot.

Dylan Kelsey, North Scott (IA), 2027

Body: 5-9, 143-pounds. Athletic, well-proportioned frame.
Hit: LHH. Tall, balanced, quiet setup. Fluid load and short stride. Rotational swing, pull side line-drive approach.
