The Skinny:
As a sophomore Pettigrew was a varsity contributor for Mount Carmel, which finished runner-up in Class 4A. He saw limited action because he was stuck behind arguably the state's best infield, which was comprised of all Division 1 athletes. Nevertheless, Pettigrew is a highly projectable infielder, one who features a level, athletic swing with bat speed. He also possesses plenty of arm strength to play on the left side of the infield - he was clocked at 85 mph last fall. Long and rangy, Pettigrew has an athletic frame, one that should continue to add strength in the coming years.

Scouting Report:
6-foot, 165-pound lanky and athletic right-handed hitting shortstop hits from a balanced, athletic setup, hands load smoothly, short stride, present bat speed, short path, gets extension, plus feel for barrel, fluid rhythm throughout, produced line drives from gap-to-gap, future power potential, 84 mph exit velocity off the tee. Pettigrew has an advanced presence and approach in the box. Defensively, threw 85 mph across the diamond from short, loose, high ¾ arm slot with accuracy. Highly athletic arm with future plus potential. Soft hands fielding, fluid footwork, athletically plays through the baseball, overall plus infield actions for his age. Ran a 7.53 60.

The Future Games will take place on July 30 - Aug 1 (Thursday-Saturday) at Grand Park, a state-of-the-art 22-field baseball complex located in Westfield, IN, just north of Indianapolis. The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2017 prospects and select 2018 prospects. Last year, more than 110 colleges from all over the country were in attendance.
