No. 16 Glenbrook South 4, Deerfield 2
Glenbrook South (21-3; 11-0 South) won for the 15th-consecutive time. Glenbrook South’s Ben Samborn led the Titans  with a single, a bomb and two RBI. Tufts-bound Tommy O’Hara also went deep for the Titans. Junior RHP Fitz Sadler allowed no earned runs and five hits in his six stellar innings on the mound to pick up the win. Titan closer DavId Thompson snuffed out a Warrior rally in the bottom of the seventh to nail down the save. STAT NOTE: Glenbrook South Tommy O’Hara is hitting .429 with 13 doubles, four homers and 23 RBI. Titan RHP Fitz Stadler is now 6-0 with a 0.77 ERA. Stadler has allowed 24 hits in 27 innings pitched with 32 strikeouts and 15 walks.

No. 1 St. Rita 7, No.18 Brother Rice 2
St. Rita (27-1; 12-1) rolled past the Crusaders behind seniors Jake Shepski and Nick Goldsmith. Both Mustangs hit shots that left the premises at 10010 South Pulaski. Shepski also singled and drove home a pair of Mustang runs. For Goldsmith, it was his seventh bomb of the season; for Shepski his fourth. The two RBI today gives Shepski a team-leading 38 for the Mustangs. Fleet-footed junior Danny Gleaves had a 4-for-4 day with a double and three runs scored for Rita. Austin Peay-bound LHP Mike Costanzo improved to 8-0 on the season, allowing an earned run and two hits in his five innings of work on the mound. Costanzo struck out six and walked a season-high eight Crusader batters. Junior RHP Matt Lenzen allowed one hit in his two scoreless innings of relief to nail down the save. STAT NOTE: St.Rita senior Nick Goldsmith is hitting .426 with five doubles, one triple, seven homers and 35 RBI.    

Huntley 5, Cary-Grove 3
Huntley (18-6-1; 11-4) pulled into a three-way tie atop the Valley standings with Cary-Grove and Jacobs with the win in Huntley. Senior Adam Kalish (4-0) fired a three-hitter at the Trojans with six strikeouts. Senior Tommy Kiriakopoulos led the Red Raider attack with two singles and two RBI.
