Naperville Central 6, Wheaton North 1
Naperville Central (19-9 14-3) took care of the Falcons behind Brad Dubow, who allowed six hits and no earned runs in his stellar five innings of work on the mound to improve to 4-1. Mike Heatherly went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI Bob McMillin was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.  

METRO SUBURBAN
Illiana Christian 9, Glenbard South 6
Illiana Christian (13-15; 12-4) rolled past the defending MSC champion Raiders at home to steal a share of the 2014 Metro Suburban Conference title. The Vikings were led by Jack Hillegonds and Kyle Van Klaker. Hillegonds went 4-for-4 with three RBI and Van Kalker was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS BIG 12 EAST
Yorkville 5, Sycamore 2
Yorkville (20-9; 11-3) swept Sycamore in dramatic fashion to win in Sycamore.With the game tied at 2-2, the Foxes exploded for three runs in the top of the seventh to take home the championship victory. Sam Flamini’s RBI single to left gave the Foxes a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh. Two big insurance runs were driven home on a booming double from Kyle Shimp.Yorkville starting and winning pitcher Cam Van Boekel went the distance for the Foxes allowing two runs, one earned and five hits to pick up the win. Van Boekel struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Morris 4, Kaneland 1
Morris (22-8; 11-4) swept Kaneland behind Redskin starting and winning pitcher Matt Walker. Walker allowed four hits and one unearned run.  Illinois Wesleyan-bound Tim Smyc was a one-man “wrecking crew” for the Redskins. Smyc doubled, homered and drove home three Morris runs while Austin Conrod chipped in with a single and an RBI.  

NORTHERN ILLINOIS BIG 12 EAST NEWS
Yorkville (20-9; 11-3) will travel today to Sycamore for a 4:30 game weather permitting.Morris 22-8;11-4) will host Yorkville on Monday at 4:30 to wrap up Northern Illinois Big 12 East action.

Minooka 10, Romeoville 0
Minooka (22-5; 16-2) avenged Wednesday’s stunning loss. Joe Butler (6-0) allowed one hit in three innings to pick up the win. Jake Null led the Indian attack with two singles and two RBI.

Plainfield Central 1, Plainfield North 0
Plainfield Central (8-16; 5-11) stunned the SPC leading Tigers and with the loss Plainfield North (24-5; 16-2)  falls back into a tie with Minooka for first-place. The two Southwest Prairie Conference powers collide next week in a best of three series for the conference championship.

SOUTHWEST SUBURBAN BLUE
Lockport 2; No.14 Sandburg 1
Lockport (14-15, 9-2) defeated Sandburg (19-6; 9-2) in 16 innings.  This game was a continuation of Monday's contest which was suspended due to darkness tied 1-1 after 10 innings.  The win moves Lockport into a tie for 1st place in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference. Mike Formella (6-2) recorded the win after pitching 8 innings on Monday and coming back today for 3 1/3 innings to register 12 strikeouts and scatter 11 hits.

Cole Bellair pitched in relief on Monday and struck out 8 batters in 2 2/3 innings. Lorenzo Blazekovich pitched one inning of relief on Monday and struck out 2.  Austin Moralis nailed down the save in the bottom of the 16th to help the Porters to victory.Anthony Cocco had an RBI triple for Lockport on Monday to get the Porters on the board in the 5th inning 1-0.Tyler Hair reached base today with a walk and ended up scoring the winning run in the top of the 16th on a passed ball. Other leading hitters for the Porters were Lorenzo Blazekovich who was 2-7 with a double.

SOUTHWESTERN  

Alton 3, Belleville West 1
Alton (17-13;4-8) scored three times in the fifth to erase a 1-0 Maroon lead and rode the big shoulders of 6-foot-7 Bryan Hudson to victory. Hudson allowed one unearned run, one hit and had 11 punchouts in the win. Hudson’s two-run double in the fifth drove home the eventual game-winner for the Redbirds. Aaron Bonnell tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single.
