Now that the holiday season has passed, the commitments have started to flow again. This packed Illinois recruiting notebook is headlined by two top 50 Class of 2015 prospects naming their schools recently.

A look at who’s going where:

+ Andy Shadid, an athletic 6-foot, 185-pound 2015 C/OF from Peoria Notre Dame HS, has committed to Bradley University. Shadid is currently ranked No. 30 in Illinois’ 2015 class and No. 154 in the overall 2015 rankings. Shadid is one of the class’s top athletes, as he ran a 6.75 60 and was clocked at 79 mph from the crouch and 87 mph from the outfield. A member of Team Illinois at the Midwest Future Games last August, Shadid earned PBR third team All-State honors as a sophomore after he tallied 17 doubles, six triples, five homers, 32 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Shadid joins RHP Mitchell Janssen (Princeville HS), who’s ranked No. 20 in Illinois’ 2015 class, in Bradley’s 2015 recruiting class.

+ Will Corn, a physical 6-foot-1, 200-pound left-handed hitting OF/1B from Hiawatha HS, has committed to Southern Illinois University. Corn, who’s one of the top left-handed power bats in Illinois’ 2015 class, is currently ranked No. 51 in Illinois and No. 280 in the Prep Baseball Report’s overall 2015 rankings. At last winter’s Underclass Invitational, Corn also sat 84-86 mph on the mound as a sophomore from the right side.

Several 2014 prospects have also named their schools:

+ Jeff Tucker, an athletic OF from Lyons Township HS, has committed to Edgewood College. Ranked No. 167 in Illinois’ 2014 class, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting Tucker ran a 6.85 60 and was clocked at 86 mph from the outfield at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase last June.

+ Concordia (IL) landed a trio of prospects recently: MIF/OF Cody Rupp (Limestone HS), left-handed hitting OF Joe Silva (Hersey HS) and MIF Mitch Wilson (Oswego East HS). The 5-foot-9 Rupp, who is currently ranked No. 200 in Illinois’ 2014 class, ran a 7.13 60 and was clocked at 77 mph from the infield and 85 from the outfield.

+ Nick Muskat, a 6-foot-2 1B/RHP from Antioch HS, has committed to Dubuque.

+ Tom Jeffries, a RHP from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Joliet JC.

+ Two prospects from Bloomington Central Catholic HS have named their schools: C/INF Mark DeCicco (Culver-Stockton College) and Jack Hester (Indiana Tech).
