Five more 2014 prospects have named their schools recently, including a pair from Clemente HS. A look at who’s going where:

+ Wabash Valley JC recently landed commitments from a pair of ranked Clemente HS teammates, OF Mizraim Fuentes and MIF/RHP Anthony Justiniano. Both prospects showed extremely well at the Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase in October.

Few outfield prospects in the state have as much upside as the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Fuentes. The right-handed hitter has all the requisite tools to become a high-level prospect with more playing experience. Currently ranked No. 38 in Illinois’ 2014 class and No. 181 overall, Fuentes was clocked at 90 mph from the outfield. He moves exceptionally well to the ball, and his throws are accurate and on-line. He also ran a 6.96 60 and registered 88 mph exit velocity. Fuentes was named the top overall prospect at the Unsigned Senior Showcase.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Justiniano is a slick-fielding infielder who showcased advanced defensive actions and plenty of arm (84 mph) from shortstop. He also ran a 7.21 60 in October. Justiniano is currently ranked No. 145 in Illinois’ 2014 class.

+ James Davison, a 5-foot-7, 160-pound OF from Morgan Park HS, has committed to Howard JC in Texas. Currently ranked No. 40 in Illinois’ 2014 class and 198 overall, the left-handed hitting Davison is a high-energy athlete who plays a top-level outfield and is one of the best base-runners we’ve seen in recent years.

+ Phil Kunsa, an OF from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Middle Tennessee State. The 6-foot right-handed hitter tallied 9 home runs and 39 RBI as a junior last spring.

+ Jamal Martin, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound left-handed hitting 1B from Morgan Park HS, has committed to Alcorn State.
