Joliet Preseason ID: Top Overall

On Sunday, Feb. 27, the PBR Illinois team hosted the Joliet Preseason ID at Rhino Baseball Academy in Shorewood, Ill. The event featured 125 players from the surrounding area and gave our staff an in-depth look at numerous prospects before the IHSA season takes off.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

Easton Harris SS / Washington, IL / 2022 Positional Profile: SS Body: 6-2, 180-pounds. Hit: RHH. Balanced, confident look in the box. Advanced bat speed, loose athletic hands, swings with intent, stays through the zone for a long time and backspun hard contact throughout his round. Power: 99.8 max exit velocity, averaged 88.4 mph. 363’ max distance. Arm: RH. INF - 94 mph. Short/quick arm from a loose 3/4 slot, ball explodes out of the hand with ride across the diamond. Defense: Quick hands, quick feet, advanced feel, loose actions, plays well on the move. Run: 6.77 runner in the 60. Delivery: Impressive athlete, controlled leg-lift into a slight drop/drive lower-half, works quickly to foot plant with a stride that remains in-line. Arm Action: RH. Quick arm, clean circle out of the glove into a high 3/4 slot. FB: T89.2, 87.3-89.2 mph. Life out of the hand and through the zone, slight running action on a horizontal plane.  T2577, 2493 average rpm. CB: 72.8-74.1 mph. 11/5 shape, showed above average action. T2496, 2400 average rpm. CH: 78.4-79.9 mph. Plays with sink and arm side run, maintains arm speed. T2145, 2092 average rpm. CUT: 78-79 mph. Showed cut action, occasional sink.

Blaine Williams C / Tremont, IL / 2025 Positional Profile: C Body: 5-11, 165-pounds. Hit: RHH. Wide setup, fluid pre-pitch actions. Strong hands, flat through the zone, works on top of the baseball. Occasionally back spun line drives to all fields. Power: 93.6 max exit velocity, averaged 79.4 mph. 319’ max distance. Arm: RH. C - 85 mph. High 3/4 slot, life and carry on throws, quick/athletic arm. Defense: 2.02-2.19 pop times. Athletic actions, quick feet, quick exchange, good feel, some rhythm Run: 7.15 runner in the 60. Delivery: Uptempo delivery, athletic mover down the mound, coils into a leg-lift to create power in the front hip, slight drop/drive lower-half that remains in-line to the plate. Arm Action: RH. Long arm swing out of the glove, quick to release from a 3/4 slot, present arm-strength. FB: T86.4, 85.0-86.2 mph. Some life out of the hand, plays at the top of the zone.  T2367, 2318 average rpm. CB: 68.0-71.9 mph. Sharp 11/5 shape, slurvy action with depth, kept down. T2534, 2353 average rpm. CH: 74.2-77.6 mph. Thrown with intent; miss was to the glove-side. T2171, 2037 average rpm

Kade Schneider OF / Barrington, IL / 2023 Positional Profile: OF/1B Body: 6-4, 200-pounds. Hit: SH. Balanced, wide, slightly open setup, short stride. Present bat speed, whip through the zone, intentful swing, looks to lift and drive the baseball with authority. Long through the zone and on the barrel throughout his round. Power: 100.5 max exit velocity, averaged 92.3 mph. 368’ max distance. Arm: LH. OF - 85 mph. Short/loose arm that plays quick into a 3/4 slot, easy effort with life out of the hand. Defense: Aggressive feet, quick hands and feet, loose athletic actions, plays through the ball. Run: 6.94 runner in the 60.

Caden Earing RHP / Mundelein , IL / 2025 Positional Profile: RHP/3B Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Delivery: Fluid delivery with an athletic drop/drive lower-half, strides in-line with a square landing foot. Arm Action: RH. Loose/whippy arm that plays from a 3/4 slot, quick to release. FB: T82, 80.0-81.9 mph. Jumps out of the hand with easy life and horizontal action, rides through the zone.  T2153, 2047 average rpm. CB: 71.8-73.6 mph. Thrown with intent, sharp 11/5 shape with short action.  T2179, 2148 average rpm. CH: 73.7-75.4 mph. Thrown with fastball intent, hard diving action to the armside, kept down.  T1775, 1595 average rpm.
