On the Hunt: Part II Uncommitted Nationally Ranked 2019 Position Players and Arms

By Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

Part II of On the Hunt's look at the 2019 class analyzes some of the top uncommitted position players in the country as well as a two-way prospect and a right-handed pitcher. All of the players show great upside, and should continue to prosper as they fill out and get stronger.

Caden Kaiser, OF, Olentangy HS, OH, 2019
Kaiser enjoys a great deal of athleticism in a developing 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame, and he utilizes it well on the diamond. At the plate, the left-handed hitter stands tall and open with his hands below his shoulders at chest height. Kaiser rocks his weight and hands back in rhythm with a smallish stride, and then aggressively drives them through the zone with great strength. The looseness and easiness with which Kaiser works his hands demonstrates just how easy it is for him to create bat speed (and an exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee). Utilizing his 6.8 speed, Kaiser roams the outfield well with good hands, and shows near plus defensive skills at first base with a quick arm and great glove. While he still has a wiry frame, expect for Kaiser to fill out in the next couple of years, and continue to develop into an elite player.
