PBR Illinois Pitcher of the Week: Aidan Dodson

Farina South Central (19-6) handed undefeated Father McGivney their first loss of the season behind Aidan Dodson’s stellar and gutsy pitching performance. As a result, Dodson has been named this week’s Pitcher of the Week award.

Heading into the game, Father McGivney was sitting in the No. 6 position in our Power 25 and boasted a spotless 29-0 record. That would soon change as the John A. Logan commit fired 6.2 dominant innings while only allowing one earned run and six hits, striking out 14 against no walks -  leading the Cougars to a 4-2 victory over the Griffins and ending their season-long win streak.

On the season, Dodson boasts a 7-1 record with 49 innings pitched, a 1.42 ERA, 90 strikeouts, 15 walks and a .124 opponent’s batting average against.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within Friday's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that by the end of this week.
