Last year’s Quad Cities Open was the first of its kind, and did not disappoint. OF Nicholas Drobushevich (Moline, 2018) put himself on the map with his performance. Prior to the event Drobushevich was unranked in Illinois’ Class of 2018 rankings. After running a 6.70 60, and recording a 91 mph exit velocity from the left-side, Drobushevich saw himself hop into the top 100 in Illinois at No. 89. Earlier this summer he committed to play at Northern Illinois.

Another prospect who made a splash at this event last year was left-handed hitting 3B Charlie Allison (Rock Island, 2019), currently ranked No. 52 in Illinois’ Class of 2019 rankings. Allison possesses a projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds. His continued development, from this event through the summer, earned him a spot on Team Illinois at the 2017 Future Games, where he further impressed.

This year’s event is shaping up to have just as much, if not more, talent than year’s past.
