Illinois Senior Games: Top Overall Prospects

The 2018 Senior Games took place Tuesday, August 8th at Triton JC in River Grove, IL. Over 100 uncommitted prospects from the class of 2018 participated in a pro-style workout and simulated games in front of the PBR Scouting Staff.

Today, we conclude the analysis from the event with a look at the top overall prospects. All these players should be followed closely moving forward.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

Nick Shelton RHP / Sandburg, IL / 2018

6-foot-4, 185-pound lanky right-handed pitcher with a projectable frame. One of the biggest revelations from the event, impressing with his frame and fastball that topped out at 89 mph. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with easy effort. Arches back at balance point, smooth rhythm. Fastball has cutting action at 85-88 topping out at 89 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with depth at 71-72 mph. Splitter worked 74-76 mph.
