South Suburban Open: Preview

On Tuesday, June 21st, the PBR Illinois staff will travel to Ozinga Field in Crestwood, Ill., to host the first ever South Suburban Open. This event is yet another stop on our ‘Summer Tour’ and it’s open to all 2023-to-2026 graduates, serving as a potential identifier for invite-only events down the road, such as the Illinois State Games and PBR Future Games.

ITINERARY 

Registered Infielders, Outfielders, and/or Catchers

  • Running Times (laser-timed 60-yard dash)

  • Vizual Edge (vision testing)

  • Offensive Evaluations

    • Mechanical evaluation

    • Live batting practice

    • TrackMan ball flight analysis

    • Blast Motion swing analysis

  • Defensive Evaluations

    • Arm strength

    • Agility/range

    • Positional analysis/profile

Registered Pitchers & Catchers

  • Pitching Evaluations

    • 15-20 pitch bullpen (fastball and secondary pitches from both windup and stretch)

    • Mechanical evaluation

    • ProPlayAI’s ‘PitchAI’ biomechanical analysis

    • TrackMan pitch velocity, movement, spin analysis

  • Catcher Evaluations (while receiving bullpen)

    • Receiving/pitch presentation

    • Blocking/mobility

CHECK-IN TIMES

Check-in for all Position Players (C, INF, OF): 8:30-8:45 AM
Check-in for Pitcher ONLYs: 10:00 AM
