Stock Report: 2015 3B Willy Bourbon

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Illinios

Today’s player spotlight is on Class of 2015 graduate Willy Bourbon, a left-handed hitting third baseman from Stevenson HS.

Bourbon is one of the premier players in the Class of 2015. As the No. 12 ranked player in the state and No. 54 in the region, Bourbon will be a hot topic in recruiting discussions across the Midwest. Not to mention Bourbon is also one of the top quarterbacks in the state at Stevenson HS.

Bourbon is a physical 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitting infielder. Bourbon possesses an advanced build for his age, and a presence unlike most of his sophomore peers. His left-handed swing has all the makings of a power stroke, displaying strong loose hands and solid separation with his lower half.

Bourbon likes to flash the leather at third base, showing smooth actions that stand out amongst his peers. It’s also evident that Bourbon is a strong high school quarterback as he shows off his arm across the diamond.

Bourbon, who made a big impact on varsity as a freshman, should continue to climb the ranks in the Class of 2015, likely becoming one of the most coveted infielders in the Midwest.
