This will be Marik’s second Super 60 appearance, after participating as a junior in 2013. A big-bodied backstop at 5-foot-11, 205 pounds, he has a strong arm and is one of the better receivers in his class thanks to strong wrists and soft hands. The top catcher at the Illinois Class of 2014 Showcase in October 2012, he showed quick feet and had a pop time as low as 1.97 seconds. He hits with a wide stance and uses an explosive lower half with an aggressive swing.
