You would be hard pressed to believe that Johnson is a junior. He jumps out physically with his 6-foot-5, 235-pound frame and projectable stuff to match. He’s very strong in his lower half and pitches with an athletic, easy arm action from a high three-quarter slot. He can comfortably sit in the high 80s, touching 90-91, and there’s more in the tank for him. His changeup is a potential out pitch with heavy arm-side sink. He also maintains his arm speed and release point with the pitch. His curveball has 11-to-5 action and sits in the high 60s.
