Team Select’s 2019 PBR Future Games experience ended with an 8-4 victory over Team California. The team as a whole put their offensive abilities on full display as multiple players recorded extra base hits.

A number of players had breakout performances at the plate and on the mound. 2021 OF Adam Moser (Fairview, CO) put his tools on full display. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder concluded is a high end athlete (6.60 runner) with a strong frame and quick hands, Moser keeps it simple at the plate, allowing his raw athleticism to take over. He has a balanced setup with a slight bend in his knees, the hands load back and whip the barrel through the zone with explosiveness at the point of contact. Moser takes a gap-to-gap approach with a mostly level barrel path and drives the ball with ease. Put it all together today when he launched not one, but two triples deep into the gaps, went for it all on the second as he tried to complete the rare inside-the-park home run, but was caught out at home.

2022 OF/RHP Alex Stanwich (Lincoln-Way East, IL) was lights out on the mound Friday afternoon and carried that momentum into Saturday as he went off at the plate. Stanwich is an advanced athlete at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds with premium strength and bat speed at the plate. Taking a middle approach, he looks to square the ball up and drive from gap-to-gap. Smoked a ground rule double to center field in his first at-bat and then followed that up by legging out a triple on a ball hit into the gap.

2022 RHP Ethan Patera (Downers Grove South, IL) set the tone on the mound for Team Select. The lean, lanky right-hander stands 6-foot-4, 205-pounds and is just starting to fill out with plenty more to come. His arm works long but with ample speed to get out front on time to a ¾ lot. Fastball worked 85-88 with run, controlled the zone with, elevated when needed. Slider, depth and late downward action at 72-74. Induced swings and misses with both fastball and slider. Struck out four batters in two shutout innings. High upside pitcher with a projectable frame. Left-handed hitting 2021 1B Trevor Dutra (Iona Prep, NY) impressed with his grit and effort on Saturday, battling through a tight back. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder has a broad frame with plenty of strength. It all came together in his second at-bat when he elevated an inside pitch over the right field fence for a two-run home run. 2021 SS Andrew Schmid (Rumson-Fair Haven, NJ) continued to show advanced barrel control and a line drive approach with his two hit performance that included a double over the right fielders head. The 6-foot, 160-pound middle infielder has an athletic build and is just starting to fill out his frame. Patera works with a long arm action, but quick arm speed is  The most consistent performer all week for Team Select belongs to SS/RHP Jonah Mahen (Crossing Christian, OK). Mahen tallied five total hits over three games for Team Select, including a three hit game on Saturday afternoon. In simple terms, Mahen just hits. With some quick twitch muscle and an advanced hand-eye and barrel control, Mahen is able put solid contact on the ball routinely. A high energy prospect who just gets the job done. Four of Team Select’s pitchers rolled back out for their second appearances and showed well: 2022 RHP Eli Stowe (Millbrook Prep, NY), 2021 RHP George Eisenhardt (Valley Catholic, OR), 2022 LHP Truman Richter (Voorhees, NJ) and 2021 LHP Kros Sivley (Sumrall, MS).
