The Buzz: Top Underclassmen Make Commitments

In the last couple weeks, two of the top available underclassmen have come off the board and verbally committed to major programs. In North Carolina, 2018 RHP Owen White (Carson HS, NC) committed to South Carolina. The No. 1 prospect in the state, White is ranked sixth in the Overall Rankings. He’s a three-sport athlete and stands at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. He has a quick arm and has run his fastball up to 94 mph. His slider is an out pitch with hard, late tilt at 76-80. In his second start of the 2017 season, he threw a no-hitter.
In Illinois, RHP Quinn Priester (Cary Grove HS, IL) verbally committed to Texas Christian. He is ranked No. 1 in Illinois’ 2019 class and recently sat 89-91, touching 93.
