Top Prospect Showcase: Stats Posted

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Supervisor – Illinois/Wisconsin

Every year the Top Prospect Showcase brings out the absolute best uncommitted talent in the incoming junior and senior class. This year was no different as over 100 of the top available prospects in Illinois and Wisconsin showed off their talents for over 110 college coaches in attendance.

This year the pitchers stole the show. The depth of pitchers was incredible as 29 of the arms in attendance topped 85 mph or better, while six were 90 mph or better. Two of 90 mph arms were 2016 prospects in RHP Brendan Heiss (Jacobs, IL) and Jack Eagan (Wautoma, WI). Heiss and Lincoln-Way North RHP Liam Jenkins took top fastball honors as both touched 92 mph multiple times.
