Underclass Showcase 6.12.13: Stats Posted

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director

The Underclass Showcase on June 12 brought some of the top 2016 and 2017 prospects from around the state to Oakton Community College. With most of these prospects yet to play a varsity game, we like to stay ahead of the curve and track these players progress throughout their high school career.

Even though most of these prospects have yet to physically mature we saw some impressive numbers posted at the event. Luke Shadid (Peoria Notre Dame, 2016), younger brother of No. 25 ranked 2015 Andrew Shadid, ran an impressive event best 6.88 60 yard dash.

Austin Galindo (Normal, 2016) showed the best arm strength of the day as he was clocked at 82 mph from the outfield, and an even better 84 mph on the mound. Galindo has an impressive physical frame at 6-foot-5, 215-pounds. Equally impressive was 6-foot-2, 175-pound left handed pitcher Colton Johnson (Kewanee, 2016) who sat at 78-79 on the mound.
