Today we’ve broken down all the position players from Sunday’s Unsigned Senior Showcase. Take a look at the top 15 players, with scouting reports, as well as the best of the rest.

1. Matt Wollnik, Neuqua Valley HS, SS, Class of 2013
Wollnik is an athletic middle infielder who showed excellent athleticism and hands at the shortstop position. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Wollnik made the position look easy as he demonstrated soft hands and a quick clean release. He showed accuracy across the diamond at 80 mph operating from an over the top slot that created carry through his target, He also showed the ability to release the baseball athletically while on the move. Offensively, Wollnik hit from an open stance and used a short stride with a slight leg lift to get into his hitting position. His quick hands in the field translated to the plate as well where he exhibited bat control and exit velocities of 82 mph from the tee.

2. Connor Conzelman, Jacobs HS, OF, Class of 2013
Physically advanced 6-foot-1, 215-pound frame. Utilizes extremely strong forearms, hands and lower half to generate advanced bat speed through the hitting zone. Power tool has potential to be plus; ball jumps off bat with backspin carry and loft. Registered an impressive 94 mph exit velocity off tee. Hits from a balanced setup while demonstrating a clean, explosive and repeatable swing without a lot of effort. Stays back well, allowing ball to travel deep in the zone. Ran a 7.44 60. Defensively, projects as a left fielder. Uses a short arm action, generating top throw of 77 mph.

3. Dylan Lidge, Barrington HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Lidge is a 5-foot-8, 155-pound middle infielder who showed a solid approach hitting from the left side. Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup using a short stride and smooth load. He showed steady balance throughout his swing and letting his hands work well to the baseball. He showed solid bat speed producing consistent line drives. Lidge also showed athleticism in the field and excellent hands while showcasing the ability to release the baseball on the run. Lidge was clocked at 79 mph across the diamond and also ran a 7.13 60.

4. Trayvon Johnson, St. Joseph HS, 3B/RHP, Class of 2013
Johnson is a 5-foot-7, 180-pound two-way player who showcased a lively arm. On the mound Johnson featured an 85-86 mph fastball while touching 87. His drop and drive delivery style delivery consistently delivered his fastball down while flashing hard life through the hitting zone. He showed an above average curveball that he threw with 12/6 action that flashed late sharp bite. He showed the ability to control the pitch throwing it with similar arm speed to his fastball. Defensively, Johnson again showed an above average arm across the diamond. His ball showed carry and stayed on line through his target. At the plate, he hits from the left side using a balanced setup and short stride. He showed an active lower half in his swing while driving the baseball exclusively to his pull side.

5. Colin Schreck, Honoegah HS, C, Class of 2013
Schreck is a 5-foot-9, 175-pound catcher who showed excellent receiving skills behind the plate and a strong release to second base. While receiving the baseball Schreck showed the ability to move well behind the plate while showcasing soft hands. He recorded pop times ranging from 2.04-2.08 while consistently delivering the ball on the bag. He has a typical catcher release operating with a short over the top arm action while clocking in at 74 mph from the crouch. Offensively, Schreck hit from an open stance using a short stride and a very minimal load with his hands. His line drive approach played well to the big part of the field and recorded exit velocities of 87 mph from the tee.

6. Connor Hogan, Lincoln-Way West, INF, Class of 2013
Hogan is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound infielder who displayed a well-rounded game. Hogan showed an aggressive approach at the plate hitting from a balanced stance with solid bat speed, he also showed the ability to create separation and drive the baseball with authority. He registered 84 mph exit velocities from the tee. Defensively, he exhibited arm strength of 81 mph across the diamond using a short over the top arm action resulting in carry and accuracy to his target.

7. Thomas Colletti, Wheaton North HS, RHP/1B, Class of 2013
6-foot-3, 205-pound two-way player. Showed promise at the plate, balanced stance, short stride, smooth load, good balance. Short, level bat path shows extension, gap to gap style with occasional pull side power. Quiet approach, flat path, consistent barrel awareness. On the mound shows short arm path with average arm speed. Fastball sat 81-82, touched 83, straight with control. Curveball shows 11/5 shape, gradual bend, 68-70 mph. Slider needs work. Changeup is solid pitch, shows fade and occasional sink, 72-73 mph.

8. Zach Klockowski, Andrew HS, 1B, Class of 2013
Physical 6-foot-4, 235-pound first baseman. Strong hands at the plate, flashes signs of power, exit velocity of 89 mph off tee. Slightly open stance, short stride, drops hands slightly in loading position as well as creating arm bar. Bat path has uphill tendencies. Defensively, 74 mph arm across diamond, average hands.

9. Logan Sparks, Marquette Academy HS, OF, Class of 2013
Sparks possesses a strong athletic body at 5-foot-9, 178-pounds. Sparks displayed arm strength from the outfield at 85 mph with accuracy and carry.  He uses a long over the top arm action with a clean exchange from his glove hand. Offensively, Sparks hit from a tall narrow setup, using a short stride and smooth load. He executed a level bat path that resulted in a line drive approach. Sparks also recorded 82 mph exit velocities from the tee and ran a 7.21 60.

10. Jacob Tirado, St. Patrick HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Tirado proved to have one of the better set of hands on the infield at the event. He showed soft, quick hands in the infield showing the ability to handle the backhand play with ease. His arm worked well across the diamond at 76 mph while showing accuracy and carry to his target. Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup using a short stride. Tirado showed extension through the baseball using a level swing which produced line drives. His exit velocity was 80 mph from the tee.

11. Luc DiMaso, Elk Grove HS, OF, Class of 2013
DiMaso showcased himself as an athletic outfielder with some arm strength. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound outfielder displayed an above average arm from the outfield recording 86 mph throws that stayed on line with carry and accuracy to his target. His arm works with a short over the top action and shuffles through his release from the outfield. Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup and uses a smooth load with short stride. DiMaso showed an opposite field approach during his round of BP and recorded 90 mph exit velocities from the tee.

12. Brazon Wheeler, Ottawa Township HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Wheeler is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound middle infielder who showed well defensively. Wheeler showed soft hands in the infield using a quick clean exchange and fluid footwork while fielding the baseball with athleticism. His arm action is loose and showed accuracy across the diamond at 76 mph.  Offensively, he hits out of a balanced setup using a short stride and displaying good balance throughout. He also ran a 7.13 60.

13. Roman Ballenger, Chatham Glenwood HS, OF/SS, Class of 2013
Ballenger is an athletically built 6-foot-1, 165-pound multi-positional player who showed an above average arm from the outfield at 85 mph. His throws from the outfield were on target and showed carry from a short over the top arm slot. Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup showing a pull side approach with occasional hand speed. His exit velocities clocked in at 78 mph.

14. Cole Hernikl, Menomonee Falls HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Hernikl is a 5-foot-9, 175-pound athlete with a physically strong frame. Hernikl has consistently shown plus foot speed recording 60 times between 6.63 and 6.90. The speedy middle infielder also shows well at the plate hitting from a balanced setup and displaying above average bat speed. He is a gap-gap type hitter while slightly favoring the opposite field using his level swing to produce a consistent line drive.

15. John Thomas, Dixon HS, OF/RHP, Class of 2013
6-foot-1, 180-pound two-way player. Athletic outfielder, traditional outfield arm action, long over the top at 83 mph. Above average bat speed, uses toe tap to trigger load, drops hands in loading position. Bat path shows uphill tendencies, 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. On the mound he works out of a slow delivery that explodes on landing, high ¾ arm slot. Delivery shows effort, and lacks direction. Finish is athletic. Fastball shows command with slight action at 80-82 mph, flashed hard run on occasion. Curveball showed command (69-72 mph), near fastball arm speed with 12/6 action, power curveball. Changeup showed deception, fastball arm speed, also showed command (74-76 mph) with run and sink.

Eduardo Araujo, Lemont HS, INF/OF, Class of 2013
5-foot-10, 200-pound multi-positional player. 76 mph arm strength. Hits from a slightly open stance, short stride, level path, shows strength at the plate.

Steve Belovich, Aurora Central HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Belovich is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound middle infielder. He showed quick footwork defensively and showed arm strength of 71 mph across the diamond. Belovich hits from an open stance using a level path to the baseball. Additionally he ran a 7.83 60.

Jason Bowler, Princeton HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Offensively showed balanced setup, toe tap trigger, line drive level path, 73 mph exit velocity. Arm action displayed stiffness, 64 mph. Ran a 7.64 60.

Billy Chandler, Buffalo Grove HS, INF, Class of 2013
Chandler is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound infielder who displayed some whip through the hitting zone. Offensively, he hit from an open stance and registered 87 mph exit velocities from the tee. On the infield he showed hands that worked well and flashed a soft feel. His footwork was fluid and made clean transfers as he demonstrated a 78 mph arm across the diamond.

Austin Cone, Oak Park River Forest HS, 1B/3B, Class of 2013
6-foot-1, 210-pound corner infielder. Balanced, slightly narrow stance offensively, stride is short, creates arm bar at load. Moderate bat speed, 81 mph exit velocity, line drive hitter. Runs 8.09 60.

Marco D’Angelo, Morton East HS, OF/1B, Class of 2013
Athletically built 6-foot-2, 185-pound outfielder. Defensively moves well, excellent footwork, gets into throwing position efficiently when fielding on the run. Long, over the top arm action shows accuracy (76 mph). Offensively hits from a balanced stance, slightly closed, short stride, bat speed shows some whip, gets extension.

Greg Davis, Maine East HS, OF, Class of 2013
Davis is a 5-foot-8, 170-pound outfielder who recorded 71 mph throws from the outfield while using a long, high ¾ arm action. Offensively, he hit out of a balanced setup producing 75 mph exit velocities from the tee. Committed to Robert Morris shortly after event.

Sean Dunne, St. Charles East HS, INF, Class of 2013
6-foot, 170-pound infielder. Hits from a wide setup, using small stride. Showed some hand quickness. Ran a 7.69 60. Defensively,  was clocked at 75 mph across infield.

Kenny Finn, Jacobs HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Finn is a 6-foot, 155-pound middle infielder. He showed solid foot speed, running a 7.02 60. His athletic feet translated well defensively as he showed quick footwork and soft hands while making a clean exchange. He delivered the baseball to his target at 79 mph. Offensively, Finn hit from a balanced setup using a minimal stride to trigger his hitting position. He displayed good bat control as he uses his hands well, creating a direct path to the baseball, resulting in frequent contact.

Gabriel Gage, Willowbrook HS, C, Class of 2013
Solid 6-foot, 210-pound frame. Showed athletic, active feet and soft hands during bullpen session. Has aptitude for blocking and sticking pitches. Registered pop times between 2.12 and 2.25 with velocity of 74 mph from the crouch. Offensively, hits from open setup. Demonstrated barrel whip through zone; balance and load inhibit consistent hard contact.

Zach Hart, Erie HS, OF/MIF, Class of 2013
Hart is an athletic positional player who showcased above average foot speed. Running a 6.93 in the 60, he also showed quick feet in the field while attacking the baseball aggressively. Offensively, Hart hits out of a balanced setup while producing line drives to all fields. Hart displayed overall athleticism coupled with 81 mph exit velocities.

Cody Heidbreder, Lincoln HS, C/OF, Class of 2013
Heidbreder is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound multi-positional player. He recorded pop times of 2.08-2.22 and showed good footwork. Offensively, he hit from a wide setup and swung aggressively on a flat path to the baseball.

Matt Hickey, Jacobs HS, INF, Class of 2013
Hickey is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound infielder. He ran a 7.57 60 and showed arm strength of 77 mph across the diamond. Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup and recorded exit velocities of 74 mph from the tee.

Ryan Hickman, Sacred Heart-Griffin HS, 1B, Class of 2013
Solidly built 6-foot, 195-pound frame with strong lower half. Showed reliable hands at first base. Offensively, hits from balanced setup using short stride and level bat path. Demonstrated some power potential when stays back on baseball.

Cameron Jones, Plainfield Central HS, C/SS, Class of 2013
Jones is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound catcher. Jones recorded pop times of 2.29-2.37 with a 73 mph arm from behind the plate. Offensively, he hits from a closed stance and produced 74 mph exit velocities from the tee.

Tyler Kopp, Lincoln-Way West HS, OF, Class of 2013
Kopp is a switch hitting outfielder standing 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Kopp demonstrated quick footwork and a clean exchange in the field while displaying arm strength from the outfield at 79 mph. Offensively, he hit from a slightly open stance producing exit velocities of 80 mph from the right side and 74 mph from the left side.

Zack Koziol, Notre Dame College Prep HS, OF/RHP, Class of 2013
6-foot-3, 185-pound athletically built two-way player. Long over the top arm action on the mound, lacks arm speed, showed rhythm. Fastball sat 75-78, minimal movement. Curveball showed 12/6 action, early gradual action, slows arm speed. Changeup sits 63-65 mph, lacks fastball arm speed. Defensively, long over the top arm action, 79 mph, showed accuracy. Offensively hits from open stance, short stride, 78 mph exit velocity.

Alex Lakatos, Joliet West HS, 1B/3B, Class of 2013
Strong bodied physical 5-foot-11, 190-pounds. Hits from a balanced yet wide stance. Short stride and minimal load of the hands. Line drive, gap to gap style hitter. Lacks arm strength, 56 mph. Runs a 7.34 60

Michael Laramie, Hampshire HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Laramie is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound infielder. Offensively showed balance setup, short stride, long bat path, occasional pop. Defensively lacks athletic release point, choppy footwork arm played at 75 mph.

Joe Lomnicki, Walter Lutheran HS, LHP/OF, Class of 2013
6-foot-1, 175-pound two-way player. Athletic frame with projectability. More upside on the mound, throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Athletic delivery, repeats well, tall and fall mechanics. Fastball sits 78-79 flashed an 81 at the knees. Fastball also shows slight run and sink. Changeup is his best secondary pitch, thrown with similar arm speed to the fastball with fade. Curveball shows 11/5 gradual action, lacks control. Offensively, hits from a balanced setup and short stride. Shows athleticism in the outfield, accurate arm, plays through the ball well.

Torian Lowery, Lincoln Park HS, RHP/OF, Class of 2013
Lowery showcased himself as a two-way player, standing 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. Lowery showed quick feet while running a 6.96 60. Offensively, he hit from an open stance while using a long stride to get into his hitting position, producing 72 mph exit velocities from the tee. On the mound Lowery operated from a high ¾ arm slot using a drop and drive style delivery. His fastball topped out at 76 mph while sitting comfortably between 72-75 mph. He also displayed a 58-63 mph curveball and a 67-68 mph changeup.

Josh Lung, Burlington Central HS, OF, Class of 2013
6-foot-1, 180-pound outfielder. Solid foot speed, 7.06 60. Improved outfield arm action will see stronger throws (70 mph). Long stride approach at the plate, shows moderate bat speed.

Michael Madigan, Loyola Academy HS, 3B/RHP, Class of 2013
Madigan is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound two-way player. At third base, Madigan showed reliable hands while being clocked at 74 mph across the infield. Offensively, he hits from a tall, narrow setup and demonstrated solid lower-half athleticism. Ran a 7.63 60. On the mound, the right-hander topped at 76 mph.

Jake McCarthy, Aurora Central Christian HS, OF/1B, Class of 2013
Athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Long arm action in the field, shows some accuracy to his target. Offensively hits from wide, open stance. Short stride, balance needs improvement throughout swing. Runs 7.20 60.

Jerome McKinney, Harlan HS, 1B/3B, Class of 2013
5-foot-10, 200-pound corner infielder. Balanced setup offensively. Uses short stride, smooth load. 75 mph exit velocities. Runs 7.83 60

Tim Misner, St. Charles North, INF, Class of 2013
Misner is a 6-foot, 160-pound infielder. He recorded 81 mph exit velocities from the tee while hitting out of a balanced setup and using a toe tap to trigger his hitting position. Defensively he showed arm strength of 75 mph across the diamond.

Angel Munoz, Morton West HS, INF, Class of 2013
Munoz is a 5-foot-4, 160-pound infielder who showed arm strength of 79 mph across the diamond. Offensively, he proved to be a line drive style hitter, hitting out of a balanced setup using a short stride and smooth load.

Nick Orsilini, Warren HS, 3B/1B, Class of 2013
6-foot-1, 193-pound strong bodied corner infielder. Arm worked over the top across the diamond (73 mph) with some stiffness. Offensively, this out of balanced stance, slight crouch. Uses toe tap stride as trigger. 83 mph exit velocity from tee. Also ran 8.01 60.

Philip Papaionannou, Maine East HS, C, Class of 2013
6-foot-3, 160-pound catcher. Defensively shows short, over the top arm action, 73 mph, 2.08-2.2 pop times. Offensively, balance setup, short stride, smooth load, line drive hitter, makes hard contact, 82 mph exit velocity.

Josh Paparone, York HS, OF, Class of 2013
6-foot-2, 175-pound outfielder. Defensively showed long ¾ arm slot (75 mph), some accuracy, athletic getting to baseball, fluid footwork, athletic fielding position. Offensively narrow stance, short stride, line drive, gap to gap style hitter, some rhythm, shows balance, 84 mph exit velocity. Runs 7.02 60.

Roy Pettingill, St. Viator HS, 1B/3B, Class of 2013
Physically advanced 6-foot-2, 220-pound frame. Possesses extremely strong forearms and legs. Hits from very wide base with no load/no stride approach. Generates bat speed through strong lower half. Flashed some pullside power potential. Showed solid footwork around first base; was clocked at 75 mph across the infield and ran a 7.68 60.

Emmitt Planeta, Reed-Custer HS, 1B/3B, Class of 2013
Physical corner infielder; 6-foot, 220-pound frame features strong lower half and developed shoulders. Unorthodox hitting approach, but flashed occasional pull power potential. Had 87 mph exit velocity on tee. Ran a 7.69 60.

Brock Pluth, Joliet Catholic Academy HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Pluth is a 5-foot-8, 160-pound middle infielder who showed a quiet approach at the plate. Offensively, he hit from a wide, balanced setup using a no stride approach. His balance was excellent throughout his swing using a level bat path creating a line drive approach. Pluth also recorded 81 mph exit velocities from the tee. Defensively, he displayed the ability to make the routine plays and recorded 68 mph throws across the diamond.

Ryan Rodgers, Hersey HS, OF, Class of 2013
Some strength to his frame at 6-foot, 185. Runs well, 6.96 60. Arm works over the top from the outfield, some stiffness, 76 mph. Strong bat flashes power, 90 mph exit velocity. Short stride, bat path has some uphill tendencies, strong lower half. Good power projection

Thaddeus Rogozinski, Fenwick HS, 1B/OF, Class of 2013
Physical 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-handed hitting first baseman features strong lower half. Hits from wide, open setup, using a short stride and minimal load. Generates bat speed through aggressive lower half.  Showed above average power potential; measured 85 exit velocity off tee. Ran a 7.83 60; clocked at 74 from position.

Paul Sanders, Rock Island HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Sanders is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound switch hitting middle infielder. Sanders recorded 69 mph throws across the diamond while running a 7.20 60. He hit with a balanced setup from both sides of the plate and posted 77 mph exit velocities from the tee.

Michael Sechrist, De La Salle HS, OF/RHP, Class of 2013
5-foot-11, 200-pound two-way player. Defensively, moves aggressively to ball; clocked at 75 mph from outfield. Ran a 7.57 60. Hits from slightly closed setup. On the mound, has choppy, rushed delivery. Fastball topped at 77 mph with little action. Threw 66-69 mph curveball for strikes. Also threw a 68-69 mph changeup.

Alec Skender, Metamora HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Skender is a 6-foot, 155-pound middle infielder. He shows reliable hands defensively and a quick, clean exchange. He recorded 79 mph throws across the diamond as well. Offensively, Skender hit with a balanced setup using a slight leg lift. Skender displays himself as a line drive hitter while recording exit velocities of 81 mph from the tee.

Daniel Solis, Prairie Ridge HS, OF, Class of 2013
Solis is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound outfielder. He showed a traditional over the top outfield arm action that produced 81 mph throws to his target with accuracy. Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup using a double stride to get loaded into his hitting position. He showed a level bat path that produced 82 mph exit velocities.

Jake Tutt, Bishop McNamara Catholic HS, OF, Class of 2013
6-foot-2, 175-pound outfielder, good frame, long legs. Athleticism shows defensively, plays through baseball, arm shows accuracy, loose action, 79 mph. Offensively hits slightly open stance, uses short stride, lower half occasionally collapses, level bat path. Runs 7.26 60.

Tony Valdez, De La Salle HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Valdez is a middle infielder with solid hands and a 79 mph arm across the diamond. At 6-foot-1, 155-pounds, he ran a 7.81 in the 60 and recorded exit velocities of 76 mph. Hitting from a wide stance, Valdez also uses a toe tap to trigger his hitting position.

Joshua VanBeek, Illiana Christian HS, RHP/3B, Class of 2013
VanBeek is an athletically built 6-foot-3, 195-pound two-way player who especially impressed with his bullpen session. Coming from a high 3/4 slot, VanBeek has a long and loose arm action. His fastball topped at 86 mph, sitting at 84-85. He showed athleticism in his delivery and solid hand acceleration. His 69-71 mph curveball flashed sharp two-plane bite on occasion, and he threw his 76-77 mph changeup for strikes. Defensively at third base, he showed solid glove work and arm strength (80 mph). Offensively, he hits from an open setup, using a leg kick trigger.

Robert Wingerter, Hersey HS, INF, Class of 2013
Wingerter is a 5-foot-7, 155-pound infielder who hit from a balanced setup while using a short stride to get into his hitting position. Wingerter consistently sprayed the ball to the opposite field. Defensively he showed 72 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Mitchell Zack, Romeoville HS, INF/RHP, Class of 2013
6-foot-3, 170-pound left handed hitting infielder/right handed pitcher. Hits with open stance, short stride, uphill bat path, lacks extension, 75 mph exit velocity from tee. Long ¾ arm action defensively, 80 mph across diamond. On the mound, ¾ arm slot, long arm action, delivery shows rhythm, direction, and athletic finish. Fastball sits 77-78 mph, touched 80, showed command with run. Changeup also shows command, shows sink and fading action, 69-73 mph. Curveball sat 72-74 mph. Showed overall feel, kept majority of pitches at the bottom of the zone.

Ben Zych, Peotone HS, MIF, Class of 2013
Average 5-foot-10,  170-pound frame. Hits from balanced setup with consistent, repeatable mechanics. Level bat path, making consistent contact. Athletically, ran a 7.40 60. Clocked at 73 mph across infield. Showed adequate lateral footwork in field.
