Unsigned Senior Showcase: Top Overall Prospects

The annual Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL took place on Sunday, October 9, 2016. The open showcase saw close to 100 unsigned seniors come out and show off their skills in front of 30 plus college coaches.
Following the event the PBR scouting staff compiled all of the notes from the workout and over the last week we broke down the event position by position. We began the analysis last week looking at the catchers in attendance. Today we conclude the event with the top overall prospects.
TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS
1. Gaoshua Williams, OF, Providence Catholic, 2017
6-foot-1, 175-pound, lanky, athletic, outfielder. Ran an event best 6.66 laser timed 60. Offensively, right-handed hitter with fluid rhythm, present bat speed, ball jumps off the bat, gap-to-gap approach; exit velocity registered at 83 mph from the tee. Tall, narrow setup with a toe tap trigger. Defensively, clean exchange, short arm action from an over the top slot; throws clocked at 78 mph from the outfield.
2. CJ Deshazer, SS, Conant, 2017
5-foot-10, 160-pound switch-hitting shortstop, live wiry frame, quick twitch type athlete. Well above average runner, 6.82 in the 60. Defensively actions are quick and plays with a bounce, athletic defender can make all the plays to both sides, above average range. Arm action is loose and quick, showed carry and athleticism, ability to release on the move. 84 mph across the diamond. Offensively showed ability to hit from both sides, open stance, quick loading action with leg kick and drops hands. Aggressive quick twitch approach, loose hands, fast bat. 79 mph exit velocity from the left side, 82 mph from the right side.
3. Jack Marshall, RHP, Kaneland, 2017
5-foot-11, 165-pound, lean, athletically built right-handed pitcher. Smooth, rhythmic, tall and fall delivery, balanced throughout, stays on-line, lands square and finishes athletically. Long, quick arm out of a high ¾ window. Fastball flashed sinking action and occasional life, thrown for strikes, sat 86-87 mph, touching 88. Curveball was best secondary offering on this day, 11/5 shape and sharp action, 70-74 mph. Slider sat 73-77 mph, inconsistent shape. Changeup featured cut and sink action, 75-78 mph.
