Unsigned Senior Spotlight: INF Rhay Street

On Oct. 7, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the fall’s Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to next week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.

Next Sunday, joining RHP Tim Rybarczyk (Lincoln-Way Central, 2019) and C Jack Jonota (Stevenson, 2019) at the Unsigned Senior Showcase is INF Rhay Street (Rich Central, 2019). Street has long been a reliable defender in the middle of the infield, primarily on the right side, but has taken some positive strides at the plate over the past year or two. He uses a short, quiet stroke from the left side and is able to lift the ball on occasion. And, once he gets going, he’s a good runner, proving he’s working with some premium athleticism. That very athleticism shows itself best on defense where he’s established sturdy glove work with soft hands, equipped with an arm capable of low-80s throws across the diamond.

Street has a dependable, if not flashy, skillset across the board that has him as one of the better remaining middle infield talents who remain uncommitted.
