Unsigned Senior Spotlight: OF Joseph Selvaggio

On Jan. 13, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the winter's Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to this week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.

One of the top outfielders in attendance on Sunday could be Joseph Selvaggio of Lincoln-Way East. Selvaggio saw time as a junior for the Griffin's, who went 28-6 in 2018 and finished No. 14 in the Final Power 25 rankings. Below is a quick snapshot of the projectable outfielder with video and a scouting report from this past October.

Scouting Report

10/7/18 - 6-foot, 160-pound outfielder, lanky projectable frame, wide shoulders, projects to carry additional strength. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short leg lift stride. Aggressive swing and present bat speed, path has some length. 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Attacks the baseball in the outfield, works through in stride, quick clean exchange, soft hands. Arm action is long, high ¾ slot, 80 mph from the outfield. 7.25 runner in the 60.
