Updated Illinois Power 25 Team Rankings

Today marks the sixth Power 25 update of the season. The top six teams in the Power 25 remain the same as not enough happened to warrant any changes. St. Laurence, the No. 1 team in the state, impressed once again going 3-0 on the week with two wins over Providence and a win over No. 10 Brother Rice. No. 7 Warren, who is 22-2-1 on the season, continue to roll and are now 19-0-1 in their last 20 games.

CLIMBING

+ Nazareth - The Roadrunners rose three spots to No. 9 in the state. Nazareth is now 20-4-1 on the season and had a 4-1 week. They beat Benet twice, UIC College Prep and Marian Central Catholic. Their one loss was a 5-4 game against Niles Notre Dame.

+ Marist - The Redhawks (15-7) had one of their most impressive weeks of the season and climbed two spots as a result. The new No. 11 team in the state went 3-0 last week with wins over No. 3 Joliet Catholic 7-3, No. 5 St. Rita 5-1 and St. Patrick 13-3.

+ St. Charles North - St. Charles North (18-6) has won nine games in a row and after a 4-0 week, sit at No. 13 in the state. The North Stars beat Crosstown rival St. Charles East 10-6 and swept a three-game set against Glenbard North, outscoring them, 25-4.

+ De La Salle - The Meteors have collected a number of impressive wins on the season and added yet another when they went 2-0 last week. De La Salle rose three spots to No. 14 after a 4-3 win over No. 2 Lincoln-Way East and a 4-0 win over St. Ignatius. De La Salle is now 13-4 on the season.

+ Oak Park-River Forest - Oak Park-River Forest had a perfect 3-0 week and climbed four spots, up to No. 17. The Huskies knocked off No. 23 Lyons Township 2-1 and swept a two-game set against Hinsdale Central 7-4 and 8-2. They are now 17-5 on the season.

+ Barrington - The Broncos rise three spots to No. 22 in the state after a 2-0 week. Barrington took down two Elk Grove 7-0 and a talented Lake Zurich team 6-4. Barrington is now 20-5 on the season.

FALLING

+ Lockport - The Porters have had a tough few weeks, including a 1-2 record last week. Lockport, who was 18-2 at one point, is 1-5 in their last six games and dropped nine spots to No. 18 as a result. Last week they defeated Homewood-Flossmoor 4-0 but lost to bubble teams Reed-Custer 5-1 and Plainfield North 3-2. Lockport will look to bounce back with two games against Sandburg and Elk Grove on the docket this week.

NEW TO THE POWER 25

+ Willowbrook - The Warriors have quietly put together an impressive season and after a 2-0 week enter the Power 25 for the first time. Willowbrook swept a two-game set against Downers Grove South last by the score of 4-1 and 2-1. Willowbrook slides into the No. 25 spot and is currently sporting a 19-3-1 record.
