BARRINGTON, IL - Barrington put on an impressive offensive display, led by senior catcher Michael Zavoli, en-route to an 11-3 victory over Conant on Monday afternoon.

Zavoli, a Concordia-Chicago commit, seemed to get big hits in every inning. The switch-hitter had an RBI single in the first inning to get Barrington on the board. He added a two-run single in the second inning and smoked a ball into the right-center field gap for an RBI double in the third inning. He capped off his day with another RBI double into the right-center field gap in the fifth inning. On the day, Zavoli finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, five RBI and two runs scored.

The Broncos offense scored in every frame but one on the day. Their biggest inning came in the bottom of the second when they scored four runs. Tyler Acosta got the inning started with a one-out double down the left-field line. Zavoli had his two-run single sprinkled in and unsigned senior 1B David Mitchell added an RBI single and also scored in the frame. Mitchell finished the day 2-for-3 with three RBI’s, a run scored and a walk.

Brad Coble and Jake Meyer came out of the bullpen for Barrington and threw two innings of shutout baseball apiece. Coble was perfect in his two innings while striking out five of the six hitters he faced. Meyer allowed one hit and struck out two in his appearance.
