EVENT HISTORY
We've been hosting this event for the past 8 years, and it's consistently provided us a look at prominent players who've later gone on to receive invitations to select events, like the Prep Baseball Future Games and Illinois State Games. Among the players in attendance at this event in 2024, there are already 34 commitments among them.
OF/RHP Elliot Alicea (Burlington Central, 2024; Triton JC) was a standout at this event in 2024 in all aspects of the game. Offensively, Alicea launched balls at 104.8 mph with a max distance of 409 feet. Along with the loud BP round, he ran a 6.83 60-yard dash and threw 93 mph from his outfield position. On the mound, the fastball was 83-90 mph, the curveball was 77-81 mph and Alicea mixed in a splitter at 75-76 mph.
C Justin Canvin (Oak Lawn, 2026; Illinois-Chicago) In his first Prep Baseball showcase, Canvin impressed in front of our staff. In his round of BP, Canvin had a max exit velocity of 91 mph while averaging 82 mph. Defensively, the backstop had a 2.04-2.10 pop time while throwing 75 mph from the chute.
1B Davis Collie (Sycamore, 2025; Bradley) At last year’s event, Collie had one of the loudest BP rounds of the day with a max EV of 98.8 mph while averaging 92.3 mph and a max distance of 351 feet. Collie also showed off his 76.6 mph avg. bat speed and a max bat speed of 82.7 mph. The 57th ranked prospect in the state of Illinois has been a name to follow.
RHP Henry Humes (Homewood Flossmoor; Navy) In Humes’ showcase debut, he attracted our staff with his frame and his pitch mix. Humes showed his fastball at 81-84 T85 mph, curveball at 67-69 mph, and a changeup 68-69 mph. At 6-foot-5, 175-pounds Humes is only going to get stronger and better as a pitcher.
INF/RHP Owen Roberts (Waubonsie Valley, 2025; Indiana State) Offensively, Roberts had an impressive BP round at last year’s event. The infielder had a max exit velocity of 98 mph while averaging 86 mph. On defense, he threw 85 mph across the infield and ran a 6.96 60 yard dash. Roberts was up to 88 mph on the mound and mixed in a slider at 71-73 mph and had a changeup at 72-74 mph.
We're looking forward to checking in on the next crop of talent from this event to earn next-level attention in the coming weeks, months, and years.
2025 ROSTER
This year's roster is already shaping up nicely, just like in years past.
INF/C Luca Agne (Plainfield North, 2026) Currently ranked No. 33 in the states 2027 class, Agne comes in as a player to watch at Monday’s event. At 5-foot-7, 155-pounds, Agne has a max EV of 91.3 and a max bat speed of 72.3mph. Defensively, Agne throws 81 mph with smooth actions, behind the plate, he clocks in at 72 mph with a 2.01-2.11 pop time.
SS/RHP Casey Mikrut (Lincoln-Way East, 2027) At 5-foot-9, 170-pounds Mikrut is an underclassmen that has impressed in front of our staff in the past. On the mound, the two-way has a fastball that sits 79-80 T81 mph and uses a curveball and changeup mix. At the plate, Mikrut had a max EV of 82.7 mph at last year’s Lockport ID and ran a 7.22 60-yard dash. Mikrut is one that should break out at Monday’s event.
INF/RHP Lincoln Boersma (Providence Catholic, 2027) Standing at 6-foot-1, 180-pound, Boersma will be making his Prep Baseball showcase debut in Lockport on Monday. An intriguing frame that we have seen up to 80 mph on this fastball at tournaments and a changeup and curveball in the mid-60s. Boersma is a prospect that should show well in front of out staff.
Perusing the event roster, we’re set to meet a majority of players who’ve not yet attended a Prep Baseball showcase, and we’re eager to add more names to our follow lists.
