Prep Baseball Illinois Best of 2024: Top Average Rotational Acceleration
December 12, 2024
With our 2025 event calendar on the horizon, our staff has dedicated some time to reflect on the top statistical performers that we saw at our events in 2024. We'll be shining some light on Illinois natives who put up loud numbers in 2024, showcasing their tools to our staff at Prep Baseball Illinois events.
These leaderboards were compiled solely based on numbers at our state events, including Super 60, Preseason IDs, All-States, Open events, Scout Days, Future Games, and the All-American Game, too.

This week, we rolled out top sweet spot percentage, average hand speed and average bat speed. Today we will look into the Top Average Rotational Acceleration from 2024.
By the numbers breakdown:
- 18 prospects had an average rotational acceleration over 25 g across all four grad classes.
- 9 2025 prospects had an average rotational acceleration over 25 g.
- 10 2026 prospects had an average rotational acceleration 23 g.
- 7 2027 prospects had an average rotational acceleration over 20 g.
TOP AVERAGE ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION
Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and Powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
