On Wednesday, January 29th, our staff hosted the Illinois Preseason ProCase at Rhino Sports Academy in Shorewood, IL. This event hosted some of the top players from Illinois, Wisconsin and even Indiana - allowing them to workout in front of nearly 20 MLB scouts.
Today, we are taking a look at each and every pitcher from the day, found below.
Pitcher Analysis

Joey Arend OF / LHP / St. Charles East, IL / 2025
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Lean, high-waisted frame with room to fill.
Delivery: Loose and easy mover, side saddles into a controlled high leg-kick, drop/drive lower-half, works in-line down the mound.
Arm Action: LH. Long, loose arm swing, 3/4 window.
FB: T89, 88-89 mph. Clean out of the hand with life, 4-seam characteristics. Locates to the glove-side. T2507, 2361 average rpm.
SL: 77-78 mph. 2/8 shape, occasional sharpness. Flashes out-pitch potential. T2164, 2079 average rpm.
CH: 80-81 mph. Maintains arm-speed, plays with occasional downer fade. Locates at the bottom of the zone. Mostly straight actions. T2231, 2144 average rpm.

Cody Freitas RHP / 3B / Bradley-Bourbonnais, IL / 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-0, 184-pounds. Proportional frame with present strength throughout.
Delivery: Stretch only, slight pre-bend in the back knee, holds bend down the mound, works in-line, repeats.
Arm Action: RH. Long reach in the back, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T90, 85-88 mph. Clean out of the hand with life through the zone, 4-seam characteristics. T2214, 2139 average rpm.
CH: 81-83 mph. Maintains arm-speed, flashes downer fade. T2138, 1657 average rpm.
CUT: 80-81 mph. Plays with occasional depth to the glove-side, maintains arm-speed.

Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-1, 195-pounds. High-waisted, projectable with room to add on more strength.
Delivery: Easy, athletic mover, controlled throughout, high leg-lift into a slight coil, drop/drive lower-half, works in-line.
Arm Action: LH. Compact and repeatable circle, clean path into a 3/4 release.
FB: T92, 90-92 mph. Clean out of the hand, plays with life through the zone, strikes. 4-seam characteristics. T2568, 2490 average rpm.
SL: 80-81 mph. 2/8 action, occasional depth through the zone, strikes. T2380, 2339 average rpm.
CH: 81-82 mph. Plays with arm-side fade, locates arm-side. Strikes. T2014, 1920 average rpm.

Body: 6-2, 178-pounds. Lean, projectable frame.
Delivery: Simple delivery, medium leg-lift, tall/fall, works in-line, works with some pace and intent.
Arm Action: RH. Long reach in the back, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T93, 92-93 mph. Lively out of the hand, has life through the zone, arm-side run, strikes. T2419, 2333 average rpm.

Body: 6-2, 205-pounds. Strong-bodied, workhorse frame, some present physicality.
Delivery: Works with some pace, high leg-lift into a coiled balance point, drops into his back hip and rides down the mound with intent, works in-line.
Arm Action: LH. Long reach in the back, 3/4 release.
FB: T92, 90-91 mph. Mostly straight actions with life through the zone. Strikes. Some feel to spin. T2404, 2346 average rpm.
SL: 72-74 mph. 4.2 T2049, 2018 average rpm.
CH: 80-81 mph. Plays at the bottom of the zone, shows downer fading action at times. Strikes. T1493, 1453 average rpm.

Body: 5-10, 190-pounds. Proportional build with present strength and muscle throughout.
Delivery: Controlled, athletic delivery, repeats well, gets into his lower-half and rides down the mound, works in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm circle, clean path, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T91, 89-90 mph. 4S: Life out of the hand with slight arm-side run. Plays with carry through the zone. 2S: Life out of the hand, significant arm-side run. T2619, 2473 average rpm.
