OUTLOOK:

The Hobart Brickies and Head Coach Bob Glover come in to the 2014 season with high expectations.  The Brickies finished the 2013 campaign 20-11 and will return eight positional starters and four arms this spring.  Brandon Murray, the No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2014 class and 1st Team Preseason All-State selection, will lead the Brickies on the mound. The South Carolina commit is a four-year starter at Hobart and has averaged 108 strikeouts the past two seasons. As a Junior, Murray batted .396 with 31 RB and is the school's single season leader in doubles and strikeouts. Tyrus Joseforsky is another four-year starter at Hobart.  The senior is Hobart's career leader in doubles. Last season Joseforsky hit .400 with 17 doubles, 36 R, 26 RBI, and swiped 10 bases.  Fulfilling the catching duties is senior Nick Bokun.  The three year starter hit .344 with 30 R, 34 RBI, 5 2B, 3 3B, 6 HR, and 12 SB as a Junior last season. Outfielder Drey Devereaux is another three-year starter at Hobart.  The 5-foot-8 senior will play football and baseball at St. Xavier.  As a Junior last spring the senior  hit .453 (new Hobart record) with 24 R, 27 RBI, 13 2B, and 15 SB. Defensively, Devereaux committed zero errors in 2013.  Adding depth to the pitching rotation is senior RHP Brandon Barnes and sophomore RHP Braden Niksich who compiled 36 strikeouts in 26.1 IP as a freshman.
