2015 Player Spotlight: No. 89 Andrew Atchison, Crown Point HS

Today's 2015 Player Spotlight is on Crown Point HS catcher Andrew Atchison.  Atchison, ranked No. 89 in Indiana's 2015 class, recently attended the 2015 Underclass Preview Showcase in Indianapolis.

The 6-foot-2, 190 pound catcher is a quiet receiver with solid hands. He displays good agility behind the plate with the ability to keep pitches in the strike zone.  His arm is above average and was 2.08-2.18 with his pop times at the 2015 Underclass Preview this past October. 

Offensively, Atchison begins with a wide base, using a short stride.  His hands are quick and possesses good bat speed producing an 85 mph exit velo.  At times his swing gets long, but does show projectable power along with good balance throughout his swing.  Atchison is an interesting follow this spring.
