On Sunday September 15th, PBR Indiana hosted the 2016-2017 Prospect Showcase at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis.  The event consisted of 50 total players from across the Hoosier State.  Below is the analysis of the outfielders that attended the event.

Top 5 Outfielders

1. Collin Lollar, RHP/OF, Columbus North HS, 2016: 5-foot-11, 160 pound sophomore possesses an athletic frame.  From the OF moves well with good arm strength at 80 mph.  Solid defensive actions.  Runs a 7.00 60.  At the plate hits from a crouch with a high leg kick.  Flat bat through the zone with present power.  At times has trouble getting his hips through.  Posted an exit velo of 82 mph. Currently ranked No. 18 in his class.

2. Reese Olden, 2B/SS, New Haven HS, 2016: 5-foot-8, 140 pound sophomore ran a 7.22 60 and 73 mph from the OF.  Arm action is quick, just needs more strength.  Quick release and clean exchange.  Moves well.  Defensively possesses above average actions from both the INF and OF, but projects more as an infielder.  Very athletic. Possesses a lot of quick twitch both defensively and offensively.  At the plate still raw mechanically, but his hand speed makes up for a lot of his inconsistencies.  True switch hitter.  Needs to continue to add strength.

3Nick Bradley¸OF/LHP, Concordia Lutheran HS, 2017: 5-foot-9 inch, 145 pound freshman was 75 mph from the outfield.  7.38 60 time.  Arm is quick, moves well for a freshman.  Actions above average.  At the plate hits from the left side.   Collapses on back side, swing plane good, hands average, stays balanced.  Short stride.

4. Drew Jones, OF/2B, Lawrence North HS, 2017: 5-foot-5, 140 pound freshman is small, but shows some athleticism.  Runs a 7.25 60 and was 67 mph from the OF.  Moves well with a quick arm.  Plays through the ball well. Exchange is clean.  Just needs to develop arm strength.  Overall actions are solid.  At the plate hits from a slight crouch with a long stride.  Good balance and swing plane.  Contact type hitter, projects to hit for a high average.

5. Alex Batistatos, OF/RHP, Hobart HS, 2016: 6-foot, 150 pound sophomore was 81 mph from the OF and ran a 7.27 60.  Defensively moves well and has a quick arm from a high ¾ arm slot.  At the plate starts balanced with a high front elbow.  Inconsistent with his swing.  Shows good bat speed and barreled up the baseball producing line drives.

Best of Rest (In Alphabetical Order)

Michael Brewer, OF/SS, FW Blackhawk HS, 2018:
5-foot-10, 155 pound 8th grader that looks the part.  Best tool is at the plate, as defensively his actions are still raw and needs to continue to add arm strength.  Athletic for his age and projects to run well as he matures.  Projects more as an OF, though the arm slot is extremely low currently.  At the plate starts open with a simple approach.  Shows some stiffness throughout the swing, but shows above average power for his age.  Very projectable 2018.

Austin Guisinger, OF/RHP, Franklin Central HS, 2016:
5-foot-10, 150 pound sophomore runs a 7.03 60 and was 74 mph from the OF.  Defensively moves well with good footwork.  Arm action is short with some rawness.  From the plate shows lots of rhythm with a leg kick.  Keeps barrel in the zone.  Occasionally will spin off the baseball.

Ben Nisle, OF/SS, Lake Central HS, 2017: 6-foot, 155 pound freshman showed a quick, strong arm from the OF at 81 mph.  Defensively, his actions are raw.  Plays the OF more like an IF.  Switch hitter.  From the left side his hands work, but the lower half lacks involvement.  From the right side, gets a little more use of the lower half, but still inconsistent.  Hands work from both sides of the plate.

Zachary Tejchma, OF/2B, Plainfield HS, 2016: 5-foot-7, 140 pound sophomore posted the top exit velo at the event of 90 mph.  At the plate he gets to extension with good bat speed.  Mechanically is still raw and shows some stiffness.  In the OF was 67 mph from a high ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.  Moves well in the OF.
