2017 TEAM PREVIEW: Southport cardinals

Outlook: Coach Whitlock's Cardinals were very young in 2016, and this spring are hoping to build off of those experiences.  Southport returns its top four arms and eight total starters. Avery Short, a sophomore Indiana commit and current No.1 left-handed pitcher in his class, will lead the young staff along with fellow sophomore right-hander Jack Vanover. Expect the Cardianls to compete at a higher level in 2017 with good pitching, defense, and speed.
