Swing plane is level.

Deryk Fain, C/3B, Urbana HS (OH), 2013:

6-foot-1, 190 pound senior was consistently 2.06-2.13 with his pop times. His arm action is short and was 73 mph from behind the plate.  Shows good accuracy and overall strength.  At the plate starts with a wide base and uses a short stride.  Good load, but his hands drop causing an uphill swing plane.  Possesses good bat speed at the high school level.  Showcased to be a pull hitter with power potential.

Gabe Jordan, OF/3B, Seymour HS, 2013:

Ethan Sparks, RHP/SS, White River Valley HS, 2013

5-foot-10 173 pound senior with a slender build. He has quick arm with average arm strength in the field. Defensively, he moves okay with an average exchange. At the plate Sparks showed a good exit velocity at 82. On the mound was Sparks most projectable position. Sparks was 76-78 with his fastball and also showed a gradual sweeping breaking ball that sat 66-68. Sparks threw all three pitches for a strike.

Bo Riggen, 3B, Avon HS, 2013

6-foot 180 pound senior showed solid high school actions at third. He had good body control with average arm strength at 77. Had average hands with heavy feet. At the plate, Riggen showed a good mechanical swing that got long at times. He was balanced throughout the swing. On the mound Riggen showed three pitches a fastball 76-78, breaking ball 66-68 and a changeup 66-67. Riggen projected more as a positional player.

Jake Fox, C, Anderson HS, 2013

6-foot-2 185 pound catcher was very raw with workable tools. Has a good catchers build with arm strength and some bat speed. Behind the plate he will have to clean up his footwork at the next level but the arm strength is there (82 on the mound) to be effective. He was consistently a 2.13-2.25 pop time. At the plate, Fox looks to lift the ball and get to extension. He uses a slow load back and average hand speed to generate average power.  Fox is interesting, while his 60 time is not great he showed well in the lateral drills.

Jake Watrous, RHP/1B, Hamilton SouthEastern, 2013

6-foot-4 185 pound senior passes the eye test and has all of the measurables.  He also moves really well for his size 6.94 sixty, 86 exit velocity. Watrous hits from a wide base and works a little uphill in his swing path. The exit velo suggests he has power potential. He needs to learn to control his weight within the lower half. Definitely, some college potential tools. On the mound, Watrous works down in the zone and creates a good downward plane on his fastball (77-79). Watrous has low effort in his arm action just lacks the arm speed currently. The breaking ball has a tight spin and is more of a 10/4 gradual breaking ball.

Nolan Chastain, RHP/C, Carmel, 2013

5-foot-11 210 pound left handed hitter strong bodied catcher. Showed a slightly open stance with good hitting mechanics. Behind the plate, Chastain ranged form a 2.21-2.32 and fell off to the third base side of the plate on his throws. ON the mound, Chastain showed a slow deliberate delivery with a hip lead, worked from a high 3/4  arm action. Showed a slow gradual breaking ball at 63-64 and a change up with some arm side run.

Trevor Tutterow, RHP/3B, Scottsburg, 2013

5-foot-10 190 pound Tutterow showed well in the field with good hands, clean exchange and an accurate arm. At the plate, Tutterow has a loopy load and a quiet stride. Lower half lacks involvement at times. When the ball is up Tutterow is much more aggressive with his hands. On the mound, Tutterow shows good rhythm with a repeatable delivery. He pounds the zone with three pitches from a ¾ arm action.

Kyle Radtke, RHP/3B, Maconaquah, 2013

6-foot 195 pound Radke shows improvement from last year. Radtke moved better this year in the field and still showed a clean exchange. Radtke was accurate across the diamond and was 72. At the plate Radtke drops his hands with a heavy step as his load. Bottom half still needs to develop more activity. On the mound, Radtke has an over the head pump combined with a deliberate delivery. He repeats well from the windup, needs more consistently in stretch. He works over the top and creates good downward plane on his fastball. Best pitch is his breaking ball.

William Rayburn, RHP, Seymour, 2013

5-foot-11 235 pound RHP throws from a high ¾ arm action, shows good rhythm and the arm is clean. Fastball 81-82, combined with a gradual 12/6 breaking ball. Rayburn is an above average HS arm. Throws all three pitches for a strike.
