Floyd Central Wins Two, Including a Matchup of Top Ten Teams

No. 8 Columbus East 12 Madison 0 –
 Three players homered in the win: Sam Claycamp was 1-2 with three RBI and two runs, Cam Curry was 1-3 with two RBI and two runs, and Christian Wichman was 1-4 with a RBI and a run. Peyton Gray was 2-3 with a double and two runs, Takahiro Yamada was 1-1 with a double and two runs, and Conner Roberts was 2-3 with a RBI and a run. Curry got the win throwing five shutout innings allowing one hit, no walks, and striking out six. 

No. 9 Floyd Central 13 No. 8 Columbus East 10 - Twenty-three hits, nine for extra bases and three innings that included at least five runs led to a high scoring affair between two of the state's top teams. 
Floyd Central got out early with five runs in each of the second and third innings. Brandon Smith and Kyle Beach each doubled to start the second. Trey Fulton drove home two with a single to left. In the third Beach again doubled and was joined by Phillip Archer and Colton Kimm with two baggers. Fulton upped his tally of RBI with a three run shot that clear the left-center fence to close out the third.

The Olympians were not to be outdone, however, and put sixth across the plate in the fifth. Patience paid off as four of the first seven batters got free passes to first. William Anderson who drove home the first two runs of the game with a double in the first, added a single and two more RBI in the fifth. 11-10 after five innings.

Unfortunately for Columbus East, the scoring for the home side would stop. The Highlanders added two more in the top of the seventh to stretch their lead and close up an exciting game.

For Floyd Central: Trey Fulton was 2-3 with a homerun and five RBI. Kyle Beach was 3-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Phillip Archer was 2-4 with a double and three RBI. Beach also got the win striking out 9.

For Columbus East: Christian Wichman was 1-2 with two walks, two runs and two RBI. William Anderson was 2-4 with four RBI and a double. 

No. 9 Floyd Central 16 Madison 8 - Floyd Central ended the day with another quality win and again offense was the story. Trey Fulton recorded his second homerun and 3 more RBI on the afternoon. Colton Kimm was 4-5 with a double, triple, and 2 RBI. Austin Newell went 1-5 but scored three times and tallied three stolen bases. Madison's Tanner Sauley led the Cubs offensively going 2-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and three runs.
