4A SECTIONAL ROUNDUP

 

SECTIONAL 1 – CHAMPION: LAKE CENTRAL

Highland 6 Lowell 5 – Mark DeLson threw 4.2 shutout innings in relief allowing two hits and struck out four. Meet Patel was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and a run, Steven Fowler was 2-3 with two runs, and AJ Reid was 2-3 with a double and a run. 

Munster 14 East Chicago 0 – Nick Fies went 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Ryan Thometz and Will Melby each went 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run, and Costa Sirounis was 1-1 with a double, RBI, and three runs. Alex Weakland struck out 12 in five shutout innings allowing just one hit. 

Highland 13 Munster 9 

Lake Central 7 Hammond Morton 2 – Max Born struck out 10 in 4.1 shutout innings of relief, allowing just two hits. Giovanni Lopez went 3-4 with a homerun and three RBI, Jared Bais was 2-4 with a double, RBI, and a run, and Jake Dykstra was 1-2 with a RBI and a run. 

Lake Central 7 Highland 3 – Zack Dobos threw 4.2 innings allowing two earned runs, three hits, and struck out four. Jake Dykstra was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Hunter Zahorsky hit a solo homerun, Evan Hand was 1-1 with two runs, and Conner Tomasic was 2-4 with two RBI.

 

SECTIONAL 2 – CHAMPION: CHESTERTON

Chesterton 17 Merrillville 0 – Brett Roeske was 2-3 with a double, triple, four RBI, and a run, Tommy Benson homered, drove in three, and scored twice, Connor Krantz was 2-2 with two RBI and two runs, Chris VanEekern was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, and Tyler Nelson was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs. 

Hobart 1 Crown Point 0 – Matthew Benton threw a five hit complete game shutout, striking out eight. Ryan Earp drove in the lone run. 

Chesterton 11 Hobart 0 – Tommy Benson went 3-4 with three homeruns and four RBI, Connor Krants was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs, Austin Peterson was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run, and Kolton Cardenas hit a solo homerun. Peterson struck out six in five shutout innings, allowing just one hit. 

Valparaiso 7 Portage 2 

Chesterton 7 Valparaiso 0 – Austin Peterson threw six shutout innings allowing just two hits, striking out nine. Logan Lawson was 1-1 with a RBI and a run, Tommy Benson was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, Connor Krantz had a single, RBI, and a run, and Chris VanEekeren had three RBI and a run.

 

SECTIONAL 3 – CHAMPION: MISHAWAKA

LaPorte 11 SB Clay 1 – Chandler Banic struck out eight in four shutout innings allowing three hits. Drake Vergin was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs, Nolan Lorenz was 2-4 with a double, RBI, and a run, Will Malekovic singled and drove in three, and Blake Braddy had a double, two RBI, and a run. 

Mishawaka 2 Plymouth 0 – Samuel Shively threw a complete game shutout allowing three hits and struck out eight. Grant Jablonski had drove in a run. 

SB Adams 7 SB Riley 6 – Thad Skipper threw 3.1 shutout innings allowing three hits and struck out five. Lee Cooper was 2-3 with a double and three RBI, John Broden was 2-4 with a double and a RBI, Bryce Martens was 2-4 with two runs, and Brandon Martens was 1-1 with two runs. 

SB Adams 4 Michigan City 0 – Kage Haeck threw a one hit complete game shutout, striking out four. Cooper Lee was 2-4 with two RBI, Bryce Martens was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, John Broden was 2-4 with a double and a run, and Zach Gray was 2-4 with a run. 

Mishawaka 2 Laporte 2 – Grant Jablonski threw 6.2 innings allowing two runs, two hits, and struck out seven. Jablonski had a single, RBI, and a run, AJ Rosebush doubled and scored, and Nick Bodle singled and drove in a run. 

Mishawaka 6 SB Adams 4 – Samuel Shively threw 6.2 innings not allowing an earned run and struck out six. AJ Rosebush was 3-3 with a double and two RBI, Shively was 1-1 with a RBI and two runs, Derek Dawson had a single, RBI, and a run, and Grant Jablonski singled and scored twice.

Penn 10 Elkhart Central 0 – Ryan Lynch threw four shutout innings allowing two hits and struck out five. Nathan Vargo was 3-3 with two doubles, a RBI, and two runs, Brock Boynton was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and a run, Ryan Lynch was 2-3 with a double, triple, and two RBI, and Marshal Furner was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and a run. 

Penn 11 Northridge 10 – Camryn Szynski went 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run, Hayden Berg was 2-3 with a double, triple, and two runs, Marshal Furner was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, Brock Boynton went 2-4 with two RBI and a run, and Nathan Vargo had a double, RBI, and two runs.

 

SECTIONAL 5 – CHAMPION: CARROLL

FW Northrop 2 East Noble 0 – Marcus Bell struck out 10 in a four hit complete game shutout. Gaven Schrieber was 2-3 and Gaven Schoenle singled and drove in a run. 

Carroll 9 FW Snider 2 – Riley Perlich threw a complete game allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out six. Micah Fretz was 2-3 with a solo homerun, and two runs, Langston Ginder was 2-4 with a double, triple, RBI, and a run, and Riley Perlich was 2-4 with a double and a RBI. 

FW Northrop 3 DeKalb 2 – Braden Klinedinst struck out 10 in a complete game win allowing two runs on four hits. Klinedinst went 3-3, Marcus Bell was 2-3 with a run, Gaven Schreiber and Gavin Schoenle each had a RBI, and Jack Hayden singled and scored. 

Carroll 3 FW Northrop 1 – Jake Shirk threw a complete game allowing one run on five hits while striking out six. Micah Fretz doubled and drove in a run, Hayden Jones doubled and scored, Riley Perlich singled and drove in a run, and Nathan Fish singled and scored.

 

SECTIONAL 6 – CHAMPION FW SOUTH SIDE

FW South Side 10 FW Wayne 2 

Homestead 13 FW North Side 3 – Isaac Bair went 2-4 with a double, four RBI, and three runs, Daniel Swarts was 3-4 with a double, three RBI, and a run, Carter Mathison was 2-3 with two RBI and a run, Eli MacDonald was 2-4 with a run, and Brandon Heiges had a double, RBI, and a run. 

FW South Side 4 Huntington North 2 

FW South Side 6 Homestead 4 – Lee Barrera threw a complete game allowing two earned runs, six hits, and struck out five. Cole Hepner was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, Tom Romero was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs, and Jacob Sanchez had two RBI.

 

SECTIONAL 7 – CHAMPION: ZIONSVILLE

Lafayette Harrison 5 Lafayette Jefferson 1 – Dylan Levesque threw a complete game allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven. Bobby Dearing went 2-4 with a double, RBI, and a run and Alex Bauer singled and scored. 

Kokomo 6 McCutcheon 0 – Jack Perkins threw five shutout innings allowing just two hits and struck out 10. Bayden Root was 2-3 with four RBI, Noah Hurlock was 2-4 with a double, RBI, and three runs, Kyle Wade was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, and Perkins was 3-4 with a run. 

Kokomo 4 Lafayette Harrison 3 – Kyle Wade threw five shutout innings in relief allowing three hits and struck out three. Colt Munsey was 2-3 with a run, Payton McClain doubled and drove in a run, and Nate Hemmerich was 1-2 with a RBI and a run. 

Zionsville 11 Logansport 1 – Tyler Milby threw all six innings allowing one run on four hits, striking out five. AJ Cantrell was 3-4 with three RBI and a run, Riley Bertram was 2-4 with three runs, Jack Firestone tripled and scored, and Sam Edgell had a single, RBI, and scored twice. 

Zionsville 4 Kokomo 3 – AJ Cantrell went 3-3 with a RBI and a run, Jack Firestone was 3-3 with a RBI, Riley Bertram doubled and drove in a run, and Evan Bohrer singled and scored. Nick Brier threw six innings allowing four hits, three runs, and struck out five.

 

SECTIONAL 8 – CHAMPION: FISHERS

Hamilton Southeastern 15 Carmel 10 – Greyson Droste was 2-4 with a double, three RBI, and two runs, Cole Dewael was 2-4 with a RBI and two runs, and Matt Buckingham had a single, three RBI, and a run. Sam Bachman struck out seven in three innings allowing one run on three hits. 

Noblesville 5 Westfield 3 – DJ Owens went 2-4 with a double and two RBI, Tyler Owens was 2-4 with two runs, and Mark Goudy doubled and scored twice. Kade Gorman threw four shutout innings allowing one hit and struck out three. 

Noblesville 6 Hamilton Southeastern 3 – Ethan Imel went 2-3 with a double and three RBI, Tyler Owens and Reese Sharp each went 1-2 with a RBI, and Bryce Randolph had a single, RBI, and a run. Owens got the win throwing 4.1 innings allowing one run on two hits, striking out three. 

Fishers 4 North Central 2 – Luke Albright struck out 11 in a complete game win allowing two runs and two hits. Kiel Brenczewski went 2-2 with a solo homerun, Craig Yoho doubled and scored, JJ Woolwine singled and scored, and Grant Richardson had a RBI. 

Fishes 5 Noblesville 3 – Ben Burton broke up a 3-3 game with a RBI triple in the top of the seventh, Matt Wolff and Alex Jamieson each singled and drove in a run, and Nick Lukac doubled and drove in a run. Wolff got the win in relief throwing one shutout innings, striking out two.

 

SECTIONAL 9 – CHAMPION: PENDLETON HEIGHTS

Mt. Vernon 1 Greenfield-Central 0 – Caleb Rush threw a one hit complete game shutout, striking out nine. Jaden Cappelletti singled in the only run in the bottom of the sixth and Matthew Boyle singled. 

Pendleton Heights 5 Connersville 2 – Zach Lawhorn threw four innings allowing one run on four hits, striking out four. Walker Stull went 3-3 with a solo homerun, Rene Casas was 2-4 with a RBI, Cole Miller singled and drove in two, and Evan Douglas was 1-2 with a RBI and a run. 

Anderson 13 Muncie Central 7 – Mercklin Dewitt went 4-6 with a double, RBI, and two runs, Clay Stanley was 4-5 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Brayden Waymire was 2-5 with a double, RBI, and two runs, and Mike Stewart had a triple, three RBI, and two runs. 

Mt. Vernon 6 Richmond 4 – Payton Bovard went 3-3 with a run, Nolan Bowser was 2-3 with a RBI, Matthew Boyle went 2-2 with a triple, two RBI, and a run, and Dylan Cole had a double, RBI, and a run. Caleb Rush threw 5.1 innings allowing one run on two hits, striking out seven. 

Pendleton Heights 8 Anderson 1 – Zach Lawhon threw 5.1 innings allowing one run, six hits, and struck out five. Ben Richards doubled twice and drove in a run, Rene Casas was 2-4 with a RBI, Walker Stull and Cole Miller each had a triple, RBI, and a run, and Lawhon had a double, RBI, and a run. 

Pendleton Heights 11 Mt. Vernon 4 – Wyatt Douglas went 3-4 with two RBI and two runs, Kamden Earler had a double, three RBI, and two runs, Rene Casas had a double and two RBI, and Walker Stull singled and scored three times. Stull threw a complete game allowing three earned runs and struck out six.

 

SECTIONAL 10 – CHAMPION: CATHEDRAL

Lawrence North 24 Indy Tech 2 – Ty Johnson went 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and two runs, Cole Sherman was 2-2 with a RBI and two runs, Nick Taylor was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, and Maalik Houston was 1-1 with two RBI and a run. 

New Palestine 8 Lawrence Central 1 – Colby Jenkins was 3-4 with a RBI and two runs, Cameron Pitzer was 2-4 with two RBI and a run, and Luke Greene was 1-1 with a double, two RBI, and a run. Jacob Garrison struck out 14 in six innings allowing one run on two hits.

New Palestine 4 Lawrence North 3 – Cameron Pitzer threw 1.2 innings in relief to get the win, allowing one run and three hits. Jacob Garrison doubled and drove in two, Colby Jenkins was 1-3 with a RBI and two runs, and Jack Walker was 2-3. 

Cathedral 5 Warren Central 4 – Cole Vassilo hit a sac fly for a walk off win, Peyton Schofield singled and drove in a run, Mack Murphy and Mitch Bertrand each singled and scored, and Jared Poland had a RBI. 

Cathedral 5 New Palestine 3 – Jared Poland went 2-3 with a solo homerun, Mitch Bertrand was 2-4 with two RBI, and Payton Schofield and Cole Vassilo each had a single, RBI, and a run. Poland threw a complete game in the win allowing three runs on six hits, striking out fiv.e

 

SECTIONAL 11 – CHAMPION: RONCALLI

Ben Davis 6 Southport 5 – Garrison Poteet went 2-3 with two runs, Kameron Kelly had a double, two RBI, and a run, and Zyon Avery was 2-3. Ian Schilling threw three shutout innings in relief to get the win, not allowing a hit and striking out three. 

Decatur Central 7 Perry Meridian 2 – Bradley Brehmer struck out 10 in six innings allowing two runs on six hits. Devin Gross went 2-3 with two runs and Austin Mitchell was 1-3 with a RBI and a run. 

Ben Davis 10 Decatur Central 7 – Zyon Avery went 3-3 with a homerun and two RBI, Kameron Kelly was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Dalton Duncan was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, Dominic Johnson doubled and drove in two, and Garrison Poteet had a double, RBI, and two runs. 

Roncalli 13 Pike 3 – Nick Schnell went 2-3 with a double, homerun, two RBI, and three runs, Harrison Koppenhofer was 2-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and a run, Dominic Brown was 2-4 with a double, four RBI, and a run, and Brian Keeney was 2-2 with a double, two RBI, and three runs. Colten Panaranto threw all five innings allowing three runs, four hits, and struck out four. 

Roncalli 10 Ben Davis 0 – Max Lundy threw five shutout innings allowing three hits and struck out eight. Nick Schnell had a homerun, three RBI, and two runs, Brian Keeney was 1-2 with two RBI and a run, Alex Stroud was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs, and Mark Dobb singled and drove in two.

 

SECTIONAL 12 – CHAMPION: TERRE HAUTE SOUTH

Avon 12 Mooresville 5 

Brownsburg 8 Terre Haute North 5 – Michael Oliger went 3-4 with a RBI and two runs, Luis Escalante went 3-5 with two runs, and Jordan Jones was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run. Garrett Copley got the win on the mound throwing five innings allowing five hits and five runs. 

Northview 1 Plainfield 0 F/9 – Braydon Tucker struck out 19 in eight shutout innings, allowing just one hit. Gavin Morris got the win throwing one shutout inning in relief. Tucker scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the ninth and Trey Shew was 2-4. 

Terre Haute South 4 Avon 2 

Northview 3 Brownsburg 2 

Terre Haute South 13 Northview 12 – Dillon Kinnett went 4-5 with a RBI and three runs, Cole Whitlock was had a double, four RBI, and a run, Brayton Reed was 2-5 with three RBI, and Connor Brown had a single, three RBI, and two runs.

 

SECTIONAL 13 – CHAMPION: FRANKLIN CENTRAL

Franklin 7 Center Grove 5 – Alec MacLennan was 3-4 with a RBI and a run, Blake Dicken had a single, two RBI, and a run, and Luke Torrance doubled and drove in a run. 

Greenwood 3 Whiteland 1 – Jordan Martin struck out 14 in 6.1 innings allowing three hits and no earned runs. Cameron Crick went 1-3 with a RBI and Martin was 2-4. 

Greenwood 3 Franklin 2 F/8 – Cameron Crick hit a walk off RBI single finishing the game 2-4 with a double, two RBI and a run, Brody Tisdale was 3-4 with a run, and Jordan Leverett had a RBI. Jordan Martin struck out 10 in six innings allowing one earned run and Oliver Rau got the win throwing two shutout innings. 

Franklin Central 6 Martinsville 3 – Leach got the win on the mound threw six innings allowing three runs, three hits, and struck out seven. Cade Fitzpatrick hit a solo homerun, Snider had single, RBI, and a run, and Rigsby had a RBI and a run. 

Franklin Central 10 Greenwood 5 – Jarod Gillespie was 2-5 with a double, homerun, four RBI, and two runs, Ethan McDaniel was 1-1 with a RBI and two runs, and Jeremy Knott had a single, RBI, and a run. Cade Fitzpatrick struck out 11 in a complete game win allowing four hits and five runs.

 

SECTIONAL 14 – CHAMPION: COLUMBUS EAST

Columbus East 6 Bloomington South 1 – Cole Gilley threw a complete game allowing three hits, no earned runs, and struck out six. Parker Harrison was 1-3 with two RBI and a run and Dalton Back and Drew Hasson each singled and scored. 

East Central 3 Shelbyville 2 

Columbus East 9 East Central 2 – Alec Burnett struck out 13 in a complete game win allowing one run and two hits. Cole Gilley went 2-4 with a double, homerun, three RBI, and two runs, Nash Murphy was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and a run, and Drew Hasson had a double, RBI, and a run. 

Columbus North 5 Bloomington North 4 – Casper Clark struck out 11 in a complete game win allowing two earned runs. Austin Bode went 3-3 with a double, Homare Takauchi scored three times, Jake Petrusku singled and drove in a run, and Grant Trinkle singled and scored.

Columbus East 7 Columbus North 6 F/8 – Josh Major hit a walk off RBI single, Drew Hasson and Cole Gilley each hit solo homerun, Parker Harrison doubled and scored twice, and Nash Murphy had a double, RBI, and a run.

 

SECTIONAL 15 – CHAMPION: JEFFERSONVILLE

Seymour 3 New Albany 2 

Bedford North Lawrence 7 Floyd Central 3 – Joey Thacker threw 5.1 innings allowing five hits, no earned runs, and struck out three. Evan Waggoner doubled and drove in two, Logan Shelton doubled, drove in a run, and scored, and Garrett Ramsey had a single, RBI, and a run. 

Bedford North Lawrence 6 Seymour 5 

Jeffersonville 13 Jennings County 0 

Jeffersonville 10 Bedford North Lawrence 1 – Ethan English threw 6.1 innings allowing five hits, no earned runs, and struck out seven. English went 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

 

SECTIONAL 16 – CHAMPION: CASTLE

Evansville North 6 Evansville Harrison 3 

Evansville Central 4 Evansville Reitz 2 

Evansville North 9 Evansville Central 3 

Castle 3 Jasper 2 – Zach Messinger threw a complete game allowing two runs on two hits while striking out five. Nate James went 2-3 with a solo homerun, Ben Newhouse doubled and drove in a run, and Messinger had a RBI and scored once. 

Castle 3 Evansville North 0 – Blake Ciuffetelli threw a complete game shutout allowing eight hits and struck out seven.
