Indiana Class of 2025 Rankings Update

Indiana's Class of 2025 rankings have been updated as we near the final week of the high school regular season. In this update, we have three arms that have made significant progress and now find themselves inside the top 10. Brandon Logan, CF, Fort Wayne Snider HS
The Vanderbilt recruit has added size & strength over the offseason and it has paid dividends for the 6-foot, 180 pounder this spring, as he is currently hitting .538 with 9 doubles and a pair of homeruns. Along with adding strength, Logan has cleaned up his forward move this spring, landing softer on his front foot allowing for more adjustability and consistent impactful contact. It’s exciting to see Logan’s bat take a step forward, because his calling card has always been his elite foot speed and ability to lockdown CF, as he was tabbed as the best defensive outfielder in the class by Shooter Hunt last summer. A premier athlete with game-changing foot speed, expect Logan to continue to garner attention as a national-level prospect.

The absolute definition of a gamer, Barth defends and hits at a high-level nearly every time we have had eyes on him. Built like a running back at 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds, the raw strength within the swing is special and it allows Barth to simplify his movements in the box to create consistent timing. The Notre Dame recruit moves exceptionally well for his size, showing quickness and fluidity in his feet as he moves around the infield, along with straight-line speed (6.74 60). Barth also possesses advanced arm strength (90 INF) that translates on the mound, running his fastball up to 91 mph. A standout at the PBR Future Games in 2022 as one of the youngest players at the event, along with being a big contributor in Andrean’s State Championship run last spring, Barth thrives in the big moment with outstanding competitiveness.

Mason Braun, 1B/OF, New Prairie HS
Braun climbs up to #3 in this update due in large part to his loud hit tool. The compact, 6-foot, 185 pounder with tons of strength drew high praise on the summer circuit last summer and has continued to swing it well each time we have seen him since. Braun’s barrel explodes through the hitting zone with advanced bat speed and barrel accuracy from the left-side of the dish, posting some of the loudest exit velocities in the class with the in-game success to match. The Virginia Tech recruit has interesting defensive versatility - showing crisp footwork around the bag at 1B to go along with soft hands, though the frame fits more of the mold of a future power-hitting corner outfielder.

Caden Crowell, LHP, Valparaiso HS
The top-ranked arm in the class - Crowell is an athletic, 6-foot-2, 190 pound southpaw that routinely sits in the mid-to-upper 80s on his fastball, running it up to 89 mph this spring. The Louisville recruit moves down the mound with easy effort, pitching from a deceptive, low ¾ arm angle paired with loose and quick arm action. Crowell possesses a legitimate three-pitch mix, showing sharp bite on a 76-79 mph sweeper-type slider and commanding an 80-82 mph changeup with tumble that is a strikeout pitch to right-handed hitters. Overall, Crowell’s combination of athleticism, deception, pure stuff, pitchability, and upside creates an exciting profile moving forward.

Collin Osenbaugh, RHP/SS, Shenandoah HS
Osenbaugh has taken a drastic step forward in his overall athleticism in the past 6 months and his fastball velocity has trended in a similar fashion. The 5-foot-11, 185 pounder has worked his fastball up 92 mph with late life, but the separator for Osenbaugh is his sharp, slurvey breaking ball that he throws at 73-77 mph. The breaking ball is a legitimate swing-and-miss offering that he can wipe out late in counts, as well as land for strikes. The Louisville recruit shows two-way prowess as well, hitting with some power from the left-side of the dish to go along with one of the best infield arms in the class.
NEW FACES IN THE TOP 10
Blane Metz, RHP, Floyd Central HS
Metz was a big-winner at this year’s Preseason All-State and currently possesses the best fastball in the class, landing him at #6 on this list. The Indiana recruit has been up to 93 mph on the fastball, sitting 89-92 mph in-game. His slider is firm & tight at 78-81 mph with swing-and-miss potential, tunneling well off of his explosive fastball. Metz will also flash feel for an 80-83 mph changeup that is an above average offering. The 6-foot-3, 200 pound righty has tons of upside - a super quick right-arm with intriguing athleticism and still plenty of room to add size/strength.
Matthew Fisher, RHP, Evansville Memorial HS
A consensus “pick-to-click” amongst our staff, Fisher has been outstanding in recent looks and jumps up to #7 in this update. An athletic, 6-foot-3, 185 pound right-hander, Fisher fits the mold of a next-level starter with quality command for an impressive three-pitch mix. The Indiana recruit can run his fastball up to 90 mph, along with commanding a slurvey breaking ball at 73-77 mph and a sinking changeup at 80-81 mph. The ease of the operation on the mound is the exciting part with Fisher, as he shows outstanding pitchability with casual effort, a very clean arm swing, and some of the biggest upside in the class.
Parker Rhodes, RHP, Greenfield-Central HS
Rhodes has really come on strong recently, a riser that finds himself at #10 in this update. A quick-armed, 6-foot-1, 170 pounder - Rhodes offers tons of athleticism and quick twitch paired with a whippy arm that comes from a deceptive, low ¾ slot. The fastball jumps out of his hand at 88-91 mph with ride and run, playing very well at the top of the zone as well as to his armside. His best out-pitch is a sweeper-type slider that he throws at 77-79 mph with future-plus potential.
Top Uncommitted
Kulig took a big step forward at the Preseason All-State this March and has continued to find success on the mound this spring for a perennial powerhouse program in Andrean. A 6-foot-2, 200 pounder with strength in the lower-half, Kulig will sit 87-90 mph on a fastball with some ASR, coming from a high-¾ slot. The physical right-hander shows tons of feel for a 67-70 mph curveball with depth, showing the ability to flip it over for strikes early in counts. Expect Kulig to be a big uncommitted name on the summer circuit in 2023.
Will Jaisle, RHP, Batesville HS
Jaisle has made impressive strides in his overall athleticism in the past 12 months, which has translated very well to the bump. The 6-foot-1, 205 pounder has a clean arm with tons of quickness - producing a heavy fastball that has been up to 89 mph with late cut. For Jaisle, the separator is his ability to spin a breaking ball. Jaisle has one of the better right-handed sliders in the class, showing sharp, late bite at 75-77 mph with advanced spin metrics (2,895 RPM avg | 2,936 RPM max).
Tristan Wilson, RHP, North Central HS
A broad-shouldered, 6-foot-2, 205 pound uncommitted right hander - Wilson continues to trend in the right direction with his overall pitchability to go along with a fastball that has been up to 91 mph with significant arm side run from a ¾ arm slot. The fastball pairs well with a short, tight 74-76 mph slider and he will also flash an above average changeup at 78-79 mph. Wilson has found success in a starter role for North Central this spring and should garner plenty of attention this summer from college coaches.
