Prep Baseball Report

Indiana Player of the Year: Michael Doolin

Phil Wade
Indiana Executive Director

The 2019 spring high school season in Indiana generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of Indiana. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

Michael Doolin

Doolin has led Andrean to consecutive 3A state championship games. He helped the 59ers win it all last year as Junior and will have a chance to do it again on Tuesday, June 18 as Andrean takes on Edgewood in this year’s 3A title game.  On the mound, the statistics are unbelievably gaudy, winning 13 games without a loss.  In 70 innings, Doolin has given up just 26 hits and 4 earned runs, leading to an ERA of 0.40.  With a WHIP of just .529, Doolin piled up the strikeouts, punching out 116 batters. Doolin is also a big contributor to the 59ers offense as he is currently hitting .449 with 4 HR, 7 2B and 38 RBI.

Michael Doolin’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Andrean High School, has earned him the 2019 Prep Baseball Report Indiana Player of the Year honors.

Michael Doolin has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report of Indiana.  The team of PBR area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Doolin amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States. The dedication and coverage allows Prep Baseball Report a credible way to identify the top athletes each year who best represent the state of Indiana.
