Louisville Lands Another Big Arm In Hoeing

It nearly resembles a Final Four matchup and much like it, there can only be one winner. Indiana, North Carolina and Vanderbilt were in the mix, but Louisville won out in the race to land a verbal commitment from RHP Bryan Hoeing (Batesville HS, IN). Hoeingm the No. 1-ranked overall 2015 prospect, announced his decision on Twitter on Oct. 3, joining fellow Indiana righty and high profile prospect Noah Burkholder (Crown Point HS, IN).

Louisville was in the mix from the very beginning, making an offer to Hoeing last fall. The Cardinals were always in the conversation for Hoeing as proximity to home was a key factor in his college search.

Hoeing is the third player from the 2015 class in Indiana’s top 10 to commit to Louisville, and the seventh in the top 50.

At 6-foot-6, 190 pounds, Hoeing has a projectable frame and easy delivery. He can sit 89-90 and has touched 93 this summer. His curveball shows good depth and sits 75-78.

Making his verbal commitment won’t slow Hoeing down as he strives to be one of the next big arms drafted out of Indiana. He was one of a handful of underclassmen to participate in the East Coast Professional Showcase and figures to make the typical rounds on the showcase circuit in 2014 while also playing with the Indiana Bulls.
