4/12 New Palestine @ Yorktown
By Cooper Trinkle

Jacob Pruitt, RHP, Yorktown HS, 2022
Indiana State signee. Lean, athletic 6-foot-1 frame. Slow-tempo delivery. High ¾ arm angle, quick arm speed, balanced finish. The senior righty allowed 6 H, 3 ER, 5 BBs, and struck out 10 in his 5 IP. Pruitt had his best stuff working early in the game, striking out 8 of his first 12 batters. In the 4th, he began to struggle with his command and a combination of walks, an error, and infield singles led to a “New Pal” 5 run 4th inning. Pruitt pitched at 87 - 90 mph with the FB, showing good arm-side run. His best offspeed pitch in this look was his tight, 78 - 81 SL. He showed a sweeping type slurve at 74 - 76 mph as well. Pruitt used a 77 - 79 mph CH, predominantly against LHHs. His CH showed good fade to the arm-side.

Carter Stogsdill, OF, New Palestine HS, 2022
Indiana Wesleyan signee. Twitchy, 5-foot-11 frame. Rangy CF with good speed. Stogsdill tracked a couple balls down in the gaps to takeaway hits. Above average arm strength in IO. The LHH hit in the leadoff spot for “New Pal” and appeared to be a high energy type leader for the offense. Stogsdill started in a balanced setup, using a short stride and small load. Simple swing with quick hands and a line drive approach. He finished the night 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Caleb Davis, RHP, New Palestine HS, 2022
Grace College signee. Proportional, 5-foot-11 frame. Quick tempo delivery. Over-the-top arm angle, good arm speed, with very quick arm action. Davis sat in the low 80s with his FB, touching 83 mph early in the game. Davis showed good command of his high 60s, downer type curveball, throwing it in any count. His best pitch in this look was his 72 - 76 mph CH. He used this as an out-pitch against both righties and lefties, showing the ability to miss bats with it. Davis went a complete game for “New Pal”, allowing just 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BBs, while striking out 9.

Wes Stiller, OF, New Palestine HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023. Strong, 5-foot-9, 180 pounder. LHH OF. Starts in a tall, balanced stance, using a short stride and a rhythmic, handsy load. Efficient bat path, gets to extension. Tends to dive forward with his stride. Showed above average arm strength in IO. The junior OF is off to a hot start for New Pal, hitting .556 through the first week of the season. Finished the night 2 for 4 with 1R scored.

Blaine Nunnally, INF, New Palestine HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023. Athletic, 5-foot-10 frame. Played SS for “New Pal” and showed soft hands and good arm strength across the diamond. Good runner, 4.25 H-1st on a groundout. Hits from a wide stance, simple swing. Good bat-to-ball skills and handled velocity well. Finished the night 2 for 3 with an RBI & 1R scored.
