With more and more 2020 players starting to come off the board, PBR will be putting out its initial rankings of the class soon. The 2020 class is stocked with talent, and the Top 50 is a great place for recruiters to take notice of players to watch this spring and summer. This week, On the Hunt, takes a look at some of the top players from that list including multiple two-way standouts, four left-handed pitchers, and a massive 6-foot-7, 230-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and left-handed pitcher.

Ryan Lynch, LHP/OF, Penn HS, IN, 2020
Lynch is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-hander with a fastball that already jumps up to 86 mph. The young southpaw has great athleticism demonstrated by his 6.92 60-yard dash, and he uses it to his advantage on the mound, in the field, and at the plate. On the mound, Lynch uses a clean and easy arm action with quickness to go after hitters with a fastball that shows some arm side run to it, and currently sits in the 82-83 range. Lynch repeats a simple, repeatable delivery that allows him to consistently find his arm slot, and he aggressively drops and drives down the mound getting good extension. Lynch also features a curveball and slider that are possible plus-pitches in the making, and he varies the speed and depth on them very well. He also shows a changeup at 77-78. At the plate, Lynch hits from the right side, and has an open stance that he squares up with a slight leg kick. Lynch’s hands work well, and he has a bat wrap before using his quick hands to drive through the ball. He also shows good feel in the outfield moving side to side, and shows off a strong arm. Overall, Lynch is already a high-level prospect with serious arm strength, and given his great athleticism, he should be able to continue to make adjustments and progress as he matures.
