Preseason Preview: Eastern HS (Greentown)

The Comets of Eastern High School (Greentown), led by Coach Nick Sale, are looking to compete for a Mid Indiana Conference title in 2013. The Comets will need to improve after finishing 2012 with a 13-15 overall record and stumbling in the Mid Indiana Conference with a 1-6 record. 

Coach Sale returns eight starters and four pitchers to his young 2013 team. Five freshmen played significant roles in 2012 and Coach Sale expects his young players to build on their experience and improve as the season goes on. 

Leading the way for the Comets is sophomore P/OF Caleb Aaron (2015). Aaron will be the ace of the staff after posting a ­4-3 record and 3.00 ERA as a freshman.  Another sophomore expected to lead the way is Kerrigan Forgave. The speedy outfielder led the Comets in stolen bases and OBP while batting just under .400. 

Other returners expected to be impact players are OF Hayden Vint (2013), SS/2B Ryan Lindsay (2013), 1B/3B Austin Chase (2014), and SS/OF Cree Johnston (2015).
